Nice to see OP never even comes back to the thread, sometimes I think why bother asking and why bother answering0

I was looking up this only yesterday and found some very useful info here:
http://www.frequencycast.co.uk/freesat.html
The Dixons Sky "Pay Once, Watch Forever" promo looks good too, but you may want to check out via Quidco or here first as the link on that site is a revenue based one.
Forget HD on Virgin, there's very little even with the V+ box and TV XL. BBC HD should be ashamed of themselves, broadcasting previews all day then only the occasional gem at night.

Because the question itself was good and worth replying and you've helped the hundreds (if not thousands) of silent lurkers here!Signature on holiday for two weeks0 -
Thanks, Savemoney, but dare I ask what LNB is? Bernard0

Low Noise Blocker It goes on the end of the dish on the arm and the cable connects inside the LNB
Link wont show so posted the description
Low Noise Block-downconverter (so called because it converts a whole band or "block" of frequencies to a lower band).
Also incorrectly known as a "Low Noise Block" or a "Low Noise Blocker"!
An LNB sits on the end of an arm and faces the parabolic reflector ("dish") which focusses the signals from a satellite 24,000 miles away into the "feed horn" of the LNB (see pictures below).
The LNB converts the signals to a lower frequency and sends them out to the cable connector, which you connect to your satellite receiver via coaxial cable.
What is an LNBF?
This is the term for an LNB with an integral feed horn. Nowadays the "F" tends to be omitted.
What is an LNC?
Low Noise Converter. Basically the same thing.

Is it possible to have a FreeSat box in a bedroom with sky+ in the living room both running from the same dish? Sorry if this should be a new thread0
