  • Yes, why have you not gone down the FOS route? Is LloydsTSB your main account that you still use?

Been down the FOS route and they told me to contact the banks hardship team. Should i retry them now? And yes, Lloyds is my main account

Apologies re read your first post(this is the difficult thing on this part of the forum, ie the discussion thread cos it takes a bit longer to check what has already been said and done rather than on an individual thread.
Can I clarify then what you have done so far, because previously you said you have sent templates and gone through the ombudsman(FOS). What was the result and when did you go to them?
You said you qualified on 4 areas on the Waiver, which ones?
What lifestyle event caused your income to go down?(that bit is 2a of the FSA Waiver)

    just as a PS

when I initially contacted Halifax and mentioned a Financial Hardship claim the guy said 'oh theres alot of stuff on the Internet about hardship claims' he pretty much said it was all nonsense. Thats when I told him I would contact the FOS and he said to make sure I told them the Halifax had offered Budgeting advice and that he would send me a Final Response letter.

The Halifax guy is talking through his posterior cos he has never been in financial hardship before. Awful as this may sound, when he loses his job he will do....

  • I got a letter from Natwest last week, rejecting my financial hardship claim. I can't believe they rejected me, my charges have gone out of control and there is nothing I can do about it, within the last 6 weeks they have taken £352 from my account and thats since I put in a claim under hardship. Lucky for me I have an account with someone else and I have had to stop all my money going into Natwest, else I would not of been able to feed my kids or get them to school for the last month and half. When they take the charges off me, they make me go over my overdraft, and then charge me for that, which adds upto another £176 every time. This is the third time in a row they have done this and another charge is coming out this weekend, there is no way i can magic £176 out of thin air. I unfortunately am not working, I am a single parent with 4 kids. The Natwest Manager said there is nothing he can do to stop the charges as it is in the system and he can't override the system. (though I know this to be wrong, because a few years ago one of the cashiers cancelled a charge I was getting).
So now I do not know what to do. Feels like I have been kicked while i'm already down.
    Sorry for the rant...

  • Hi

I have received a letter from lloyds last week after I sent them the hardship letter. It looks like a standard letter basically saying that they feel their charges are fair, referring to the 'test case' and also that if I do not agree with the assessment of my current situation I am able to refer the matter to the fos.

    What do I do next,
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

  • Hi i am struggling to make all my payments each month and repeatedly go over my overdraft, unfortunatly some of my debts are due to money my friends & folks lent me when i split up with my ex and they helped me sort myself out with the mortgage and stuff, but obviously they want their money back. If i put a claim in for financial hardship would this be taken into account or not? Also would they take any notice as all my priority debts are up to date.... if only they would pay out for us then the whole world would be a better place for everyone.
