  • Call them tomorrow since the hardship teams will be open and simply explain that you have signed a financial hardship settlement which states no further charges or interest will be added to the account and yet £171.00 is scheduled/has gone out. They should be able to cancel it.

    What I would say is that there is nothing you can do TONIGHT so don't get up a head of steam unnnecessarily. Do you have the telephone number to call tomorrow?
    There might be one on the offer letter sent?

    Thankyou - I knew really that not much could be done tonight, I was just angry that it took so long to get this sorted and i have managed to sort my account and then they do this! I have got a phone number so will ring in the morning and hopefully get it sorted out.

    got a reply about my finance sheet know they want to know what made me get in to the mess which i have sent back to them what is likely to happen next.

    Spoke to Glasgow this morning and they agreed that the charges shouldn't have been taken out and are refunding them for Monday. Thankyou for your advice. I will only speak to Glasgow/Edinburgh for anything like this in the future!
  • Priority debt arrears(mortgage/rent, council tax, utilities) and no repaying of any of the arrears as the budget simply will not allow for it.

    Ok, so it looks like i'm not quite there yet, but give me 2 weeks and i'll be behind on my arrears and rent! I find it annoying that it seems it's not a preventative measure, but when i get into deep trouble i can use it to try and bail me out. Thanks for the info and good luck to everyone else who's posted and all those who haven't

    That is the circumstances as to why the income going through your account dropped for example, loss of job, separation from partner, loss of overtime in these days, etc,etc,

    The decision will not be known until at least October, let's not worry about what will happen but concentrate on what is happening now otherwise we will have a terrible summer ;)

    Hi, i've had a response from HBOS as i filled in their financial hardship forms. They have said they agree i am in financial hardship & to help me out are willing to refund the charges they have put on my account for July, which amounts to £175.00, this wouldn't even cover my unauthorised overdraft amount, which is £182.00. I am claiming £595.00 for charges going back to May 2008, which doesn't include interest. Should i ring them up & tell them i'm not accepting that amount or should i write in, saying if they don't pay me what i am claiiming for that i will go to the ombudsman? All the amount i am overdrawn for is purely bank charges. Any advise welcome, thanks in advance. SUFC

    When did the financial hardship begin(so job loss, lack of overtime, etc etc)?
    When were you unable to cover your bills going through your account?
