On ebay UK, it's supposed to be just standard or lowered URL="http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/myebay/seller-dashboard.html#standing"]linky[/URL, but on ebay.com there is also 'raised' URL="http://pages.ebay.com/help/myebay/seller-dashboard.html"]linky[/URL.ArmitageShanks wrote: »No probs. Just to clarify in the ebay school report our search standing is 'standard'. I was just wondering from what Soolin was saying if there is lowered, standard, enhanced'.
As far as I have seen the pinks on the ebay boards have dodged answering whether or not this means that US items get priority over UK items in best match searches...:www: :: MFi3 ::

That's interesting as my account was originally registered on ebay.com so maybe that explains why I got the flashing box?On ebay UK, it's supposed to be just standard or lowered URL="http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/myebay/seller-dashboard.html#standing"]linky[/URL, but on ebay.com there is also 'raised' URL="http://pages.ebay.com/help/myebay/seller-dashboard.html"]linky[/URL.

Anybody else having problems?

Yep!
I always send items out within 2 days & i'm very fair with my p&p costs.
Yet, one idiot in particular, marked me down for p&p when i charged £2.75 and the actual postage (alone) was £2.51!

They have some very cheap items, I'm sure you'd find one that you liked?
Anyway, the problem with the DSRs is that ebay & now paypal communicate to the buyer to mark you down. They also set the wording so the a 4 looks like the seller has done a good job and you'd only give them a 5 if they did something exceptional. They want it this way, becuase they don't want to pay PS discounts.
The other problem, is becuase buyers think that sellers don't see what sort of rating they give, they seem to like nothing more than putting nice words in the feedback and then marking down on the scores. It is just a personality trait.0 -

That's interesting. As I mentioned previously I haven't been a buyer yet since the DSRs came in and was wondering what direction the buyers are given. I've just had excellent feedback from a buyer who emails me daily about things going on and is very impressed with my service and yet it appears that she left 4s.
I actually got in contact with a buyer yesterday after she left glowing feedback and my DSRs went down. I asked her if she was really happy with the item and the reason why I was asking her. However as Soolin explained well to me, she could have left all 5s but the working out of the DSRs means that her ratings wouldn't have much effect.
I wouldn't be bothered too much but when your visibility is lowered and there is absolutely nothing more you can do, you do feel that eBay are giving you a persistent elbow out.

Well, you can see your own DSRs to 2 decimal figures if you go in to your seller dashboard. If a seller gives you a 4, it won't hit you too much but you will be able to see it.
Even though I sell about 150 items per month, I can see exactly what effect each score from a buyer has. I can guess pretty much what sort of score they gave me. I've had the same where people have bought things from me and have been very pleased and said they'll be back again, but I can see they've scored me 4, so I block them, because it is easier to do that than try and educate every buyer. It isn't the right way to do business, but unfortuantely it is the ebay way.0 -

The DSRs roll on both the 30 days or 12 months, so if you have records before that you can't know for certain who has marked you down as the averages change as the earlier ratings drop off and new ones are added..0 -
Road-hog,
The figures that have lowered my searching status relate to the past 30 days. They are not bad - in fact at present the postage is the one below standard and that is at 4.3 but like you say you get glowing feedback to then get a rubbish DSR. I don't know about banning them though, would anybody be left?
I guess your volume of sales is helping you see what is going on. I'm going to give one last big push this week on my smaller account and then close it as I physically can't do anything better (apart from pay the buyer to take my item)
P.S. I'm now waiting for 11 feedbacks to come through so could be back to substandard DSRs by the end of the week.
