DSR ratings appalling!
Comments

You have only ever been able to leave whole stars..it is cumulative though which is why we as sellers see them with fractions.
I am sure it was different the other day!!!!
Must be a senior moment.0 -
Sorry Soolin,
I'm being really thick. If ratings are given in whole numbers, surely the sellers rating would be whole or are the ratings judged against amount sold or how does it work?
Thanks for the info.

OK, this is going to have to be a Soolin explanation ..so in other words completely incomprehensible....
say 10 buyers leave you star rating, 5 leave you 4* and 5 leave you 5*..that would be averaged out at 4.5..the more sellers you have leaving different ratings the more the fraction will change.
It's on the second page of the seller dashboard where you can see the fraction down to 2 decimal points!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Ok current ratings are:
Item as Described 4.4
Communication 4.5
Dispatch Time 4.4
Postage 4.2
= lowered status
I think you only need to get them to 4.4 to go up in the visibility. I do get peeved though as my despatch star has just dropped to 4.8 yet I always despatch same or next day..and it was 4.9 this morning and I've done nothing different.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Umm, an unusual response indeed!
Thanks harveybobbles, so do your breaches stay there for so long or are they always there or don't you know?

I'm not sure to be honest.
My Search Standing is lowered 'cos of my dispatch time. But I clearly state on my description and at the checkout that I post on Monday's. so if I sell an item on Tuesday, it gets posted the following monday - quite slow and a long time to wait, but it's cleary stated. Though I do aim to get my listings so they finish around a weekend to give people time to pay so I can do my Monday post.
Policy compliance is fair 'cos of the breach. but the rest is good! Lol.

Thanks Soolin, that makes complete sense..although I can't work out how to increase it then...assuming I am doing everything possible, do I need more buyers or fewer buyers? Any mathematicians about?

Yep, I'm getting the feeling that there is some formula for getting top marks that has nothing to do with what you actually do. I'm wondering whether a lot of buyers are equating dispatch time with delivery time? Might start sending out info on this in my dispatch message!

"I post all my items on Monday's - should you require your winning item sooner, then drop me a line" is what I put on the main description and at the checkout.
I don't understand how I can be marked down for dispatch time, when I clearly state that it could be a while lol.0 -
Yes but you don't expect them to read the description and checkout info, do you?
I often list with the words 'Please read the description carefully as the condition and contents may vary' - referring to collections that I am selling. I have even emailed buyers when they have bid to ask them to make sure they definitely want the described item (where item is not prefect). Talk about being paranoid!
Actually that's a bit unfair on my buyers, they have all (bar one) been really good...until leaving ratings apparently.

Soolin, am I correct in thinking you're not a powerseller? If so how do you have enhanced search status? I recently noticed we're getting 20% off our fees, but we're not a PS (although we qualify for gold).
I may be wrong but I thought this was all reserved for PS??0 -
ArmitageShanks, I took it that Soolin meant top searching as opposed to lower searching status. Sure she'll be along to tell us the secret if she is enhanced searching.
Ok, on my account I have noticed there are two sets of figures. One of the front page which relates to 12 month DSRs and the one on your dashboard which relates to the last 30 days so the figures I quoted earlier were the last 30 days which affect my search status.
The last 12 months read:
Item as Described 4.8
Communication 4.8
Dispatch Time 4.8
Postage 4.7
So there must be a formula to be applied to make sure you get optimum DSR and I have a feeling it means lots of sales per month. Does anybody know please?
Thanks.
