    It is almost always cheaper to get a local SIM when you get to the other country. You are leaving it a bit late for Orate, from what I've heard

    I have a Samsung D500 on Orange.I am going to Spain this year, I would like to know the best way to make & recive calls whilst I am away, I think the phone is locked as my daughters O2 sim would not work in my phone. Thanks

    if its just a one off trip then id get the phone unlocked and buy a local sim

    You need to get the phone unlocked, and then use a local SIM.
    It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!
    (OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)
