Experian should be removed 6 years to the day.
I just did the credit eligibilty checker on here (dont intend to use it as we are wanting to keep squeeky clean files for mtg application).
Was just curious to see if it has made any difference on better cards being offered etc. I currently have been using vanquis to rebuild and now have the max 3500 limit...pay in full each month.
The BR falling off has made a huge diffference 95% on most cards and much better rates!
Good to know when im ready to ditch the high APR on vanquis.0 -
Hi, I have changed all of my husbands defaults apart from creation, who are not responding to any letters sent. I've had a look at the IPO site but it seems to suggest that you contact the company involved. Please help me 😭0
-
The biggest hurdle is sometimes making sure the right person/office gets the letter. Have you doubled checked who /what address the Creation letter has got to go to? I'm assuming you have sent the letters recorded delivery so the mail tracking should give you at least some sort of name of who signed for the letter?0
-
I've sent it twice to their head office, I've emailed them but no response at all. Have even got experience involved but no joy. Might delivery it personally and not leave until something is done 😜0

Hi,
Further update on this, wrote to the companies that need changing on this, some have written back and now updated the default date correct and marked satisfied. Oddly thou Llyods wrote back and said they have updated to mark it as satifised but no mention of changing the date (which actually the main thing I requested as per letter) but after looking at my credit file I can see that Llyods have marked it as satisfied but have not changed the date. Strangely it doesn't show a default date (could have sworn it did previously) but only shows account closed date. Can you advise on where I should go from here?0 -
Could someone please advise on my last post?
Also 2 of the companies I had written too (orange and three) have not responded at all.
Thanks, any help would be apreciated.0 -
Complain to Lloyds stating that
- to be accurate under the DPA, an account included in a bankruptcy must be registered as a default with the date no later that the bankruptcy order date.
- That by not recording this they are artificially and unfairly prolonging the length of time negative data will remain on file.
- if not recorded properly, you will be taking them to the FOS/ICO
Orange and O2, similar on those issues, but that you will take them to the ICO and their communications ombudsman.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

HI we were declared bankrupt December '09 so the 6yrs have expired and we still need to check our credit files (Experian, Equifax and Call Credit) checks.
When we went bankrupt my wife had a Tesco Loan which was covered under the bankruptcy but just before the bankruptcy was filed they took us to court to get a CCJ against my wife which was imposed along with a land registry ruling (ie if we sell they get the full outstanding amount from any equity in the sale), when the OR tried to contact Tesco to sort this the OR could never get an answer from Tesco (or at least anything concrete), when we have contacted them they say they have no record but we have never had anything back from the land registry stating they have no further claim on our property), from our point of view the fact that the OR couldn't sort this meant that they had to take this CCJ into account when working out whether we had enough equity in our property to sell it, which we have kept.
What I want to know is
Will this CCJ shows on our credit files? I assume, rightly or wrongly, that this debt would have been taken into account when we went bankrupt,
and
How do we go about removing it from our files, or does it also come off after 6yrs, and how do we go about removing the land registry entry if we can?
Thanks
