Thanks for the advice. In that case I will go back to lady who removed the incorrect default (she had the power!) and ask her how to get my debit card back if she says it will always be no because of BR full stop, then will have to try co op. I really do not want another 4 years with no debit card. I get so nervous doing the food shopping that I do not have enough cash on me. I am getting really panicky when shopping crazy as I have enough money in the bank.
Hi
I have had a nationwide account since 2006. I always have at least £1000 in the account, never have gone overdrawn and never have had a DD bounce. I have a basic cash card account. Every 6 months I have applied to upgrade the account and they have just said no without looking into it much further. If they used judgemental lending like for example MBNA it would be much better, but they just look at the score and if the computer says no its no. So I would not hold any hope with Nationwide.
I applied for an account with co-op and they do no credit checks on you, you only get an electron but it is a start. They said if they see the account has been run well for 6+ months they would upgrade to a visa debit, I wish I did this years ago. So closing my Nationwide account now. Co-op were one of my creditors too and nationwide were not.0 -
Quick question.
I have 2 defaults on my file - MBNA and Link Financial (MBNA); so its for the same thing. Now, I am not that fussed in having the 2 (although I know that it shouldn't be the case) but who should I write too? Is MBNA responsible for both of them or should I write seperately to both of them???
And I cannot find any details for Link Financial either (address wise)
And the same with Egg/Lowell Group, but only one default from Lowell Group - who should I write to??
AND Barclaycard and 1st Credit (two defaults!!!)0 -
Found it!
Fermi - can you add it to the Clean Up Post??

Hi, i posted on the main site but didnt get any response so thought id try here. I get auto discharge beginning of April, looked at my experian report & there is 3 judgements on file not including my BR, do the judgements drop off automatically or do i have to apply to the court / write to company. They have been included in my BR.
Thanks0 -

Thank you for the advice. I will try once more to upgrade the acount if it fails I have done all I can, the situation will not change for another 4 years and I will go to the co op. Feel fed up as I thought there was hope.....watch this space as I will apply next week after pay day! (pointless but makes me feel better)

Hi Natalouie
My experience of Nationwide is that they never do credit checks after your first application for an account. For years, when I had a perfect credit record, they never allowed me to upgrade to a debit card.
As well as the Co-operative, you can also try Barclays Cash Card account which comes with a Connect Visa Debit card (accepted in more places than the Co-operative Electron card). It doesn't matter if Barclays were a creditor. Best to open by post though as I struggled in the branch (their new system credit checks you whereas they don't by post). Make sure you get your ID verfied in branch and make sure they use branch and till stamp.
The Co-operative are a good bank and to be honest, I've only not been able to use the Electron card in a few places.0 -
I have paid £60 for my Discharge Certificate to the court. Please can somebody tell me how long does it take to arrive.

Hi everyone
Followed instructions on the clean up thread ,got data control addresses from correct sights. All bar 2 have responded and put settled / partially settled on accounts so thats great.
The problem I have is with a sky credit card that was listed on my bankruptcy .The sky card was passed to capquest, capquest then registered it as default with all three agencies under the heading capquest- sky card, Wrote to capquest on discharge of my bankruptcy and they put settled on all three credit reference agencies INCLUDING CREDIT CALL, SO FAR SO GOOD.
However Credit Call have a 2nd listing for the same sky credit card under a different heading as Barclaycard Sol Fin & Sky Card and this is still showing as a default.
Despite 2 months and 10 different addresses I wrote to including the ICO data controller addresses I have had no reply.I have rang SKY card who told me I need to speak to Barclays, I rang Barclays who told me its a sky matter after persistence and a couple of india call centres I got an address from each which I wrote to and surprise no reply still default.
I then contacted call credit and asked them who had supplied the default info on Barclaycard Sol Fin & Sky Card they gave me a Barclays address, I sent the standard letter from your thread recorded delivery as always (now my 13th letter regards this ones sky card) and it came back to me unopened. I rang barclays India call centre who confirmed the address existed so I sent another recrded delivery letter this one I checked has been delivered 22/03/09 via tracking.
My concern is, have I got the correct address? before I go to stage 2 of the thread with a complaint as Barclays maintain its Sky problem but Credit Call have given me the below address as the providers of the default information =
Barclaycard
1234 Pavillion Drive
Northampton
NN4 7SG
Has anyone had a default under the heading barclay card sol fin & sky card , who did they write to. Anyone able to help I am going nuts with this.
ps discharged in november 2008 and thanks for all your help during bankruptcy.

Hello Everyone, I wonder if anyone can help with with this query?
I am just checking my credit report, and I was made bankrupt in 2007 (discharged 2008). Now a lot of the creditors on my list are shown as Default and Unsettled, although a footnote at the bottom of the entry says these debts will removed from my report after 6 years, even if the debt is left unpaid.
The default dates on these accounts are all BEFORE my bankrupcy date, so I'm unsure whether I should contact them or not to 'settle' the debt. If they are going to be removed from my report within 6 years anyway, should I leave well enough alone? Or do I need to contact them in order for everything to run smoothly?
As you can guess, I'm really confused about what I should do, so any advice would be gratefully received.
Many thanks,My Mind Not Only Wanders..... Sometimes I Lose It Completely.....0
