I remember it distinctly. When I was 36yrs old, I went to apply for a job. I didn't even get a application form, I was to old. so I came home rang the company and in short read them the riot act. There top age limit on the job was 28yr. I was asked to hold the line. I got an interview and the job. At interview I asked why, they had changed there mind, they said initiative and a refusal to be stopped the first hurdle. Showed great strength of character. asked them how many People they had interviewed before me, they had seen 7 people before me. I told them I thought there age restriction policy was rubbish. I wasn't bothered what I said as I dint think i was going to get the job, just thought they wanted to build me up, then pull me down. But I wanted to give them a piece of my mind. Man who interviewed me said, he felt as if he had been inter viewed. I was with the copany for 11 yrs, So don't you stop, using you initiative.

This will make some of you sick. My Missis eats loads and loads; and I mean loads and she's a size 8!
Our food shopping bill is far more than it should be.
But she's a runner (I'm sure she suffers from OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder)), because she's got to train 6 days a week; and on a Sunday she'll do a 3 hour long run), and has to force herself to have a rest day.
In between she never stops cleaning/hooving/ironing! It's got to be OCD, though I'm no doctor.
But you should see our food bill!
Tosh,
Are your for real? We don't like people taking the carp out of us. If you are genuine I (we) apologise. The way this post reads it's as if you are telling us that we are all fat, lazy people who could not possibly ever be a size 8, and could never run anywhere (even for a bus). How do you know that someone else being a size 8 and eating everything would bother me? It doesn't. I had a friend who was too skinny due to an over active thyroid and had a miserable time, and all she done was eat. And I do my housework, thank you.
We are all friendly on here and we don't take kindly to patronising people. As I said earlier, if I am reading too much into your post, I apologise.

Thanks Jo,
I just got a bit angry, how does this guy know anything about me after meeting me for a short time? He looked like a miserable git with a long thin expressionless face and was a carp interviewer. I would have probably told him to shove his job after a week anyway:rotfl:
Ah well, you can only keep trying. I was at another agency tonight, gelt comfortable with the girl, I think she;ll get me something. Job with old boss would probably be good, but I don't know what the money is like or anything yet, so will keep that on the back burner for now. He will know that I am looking for a good wage plus commission though, so it might be worth it.

Do not buy anything you can not afford with a credit card. Credit cards are an expensive way of borrowing than your local bank loan which offers better rates and better terms for you. If you are going to use a credit card, use credit card that offers 0% on balance transfers.
Sandwiches, burgers, fizzy drinks, sweets, potato crisps and takeaways are more expensive and do not nourish your body like the less cheaper fruits and vegetables. Instead of buying a expensive sandwich from a shop, taking a pack lunch will save you a lot of money.
What's this one all about as well, I had a look at previous posts and is dotting daft things like above on random threads. HELLO, WE KNOW ALL OF THIS STUFF THANK YOU:mad: :mad:0 -

Im back - still feeling rubbish, but im back.
Had my first success with the bread maker on the weekend so instead of nasty shop bought bread i have lovely home made bread with smooth peanut butter for lunch mmmmmm.
Also i bought my breakfast to work with me today - i have been missing breakfast at home and then either not eating or buying something from the van - both very bad - so this morning i brought my little variety pack with me and munched away before 9 (another advantage is milk at work is free (well we pay £4 a month for all tea, coffee, squash etc)
Aside from that i had an amazing weekend with mates and OH and am really looking on the brighter side in terms of living. But i did spend the entire weekend thinking about food and money
Also - i didnt, but i very nearly smoked!!!!!!! (have given up for 3 months and 2 1/2 weeks but really, really wanted one on the weekend) am so glad i resisted but i was so close to giving in.
Anyone else having issues at the moment? You are all doing so well and seem so positive i think im gonna have to start taking a leaf out of your books!!!!!
Hope all are well.

Lynn Hiya, oo 100 mile round trip. Thats a Lotta petrol, unless money is Fandabbydozyeeee. I agree with you "There loss". good on you for contacting the guy. Where you just supposed to accept it and say "OK" and move on ? Bet he is wishing he had kept you now, for showing your assertiveness. I think you need a people job, I love your posts you are soooo funny.
Jo x
Thanks Jo,
A lot of people tell me that I am funny, I just don't see it. A friend of mine does a caring job like yours, he thinks that I should get into that. I couldn't do the shiftwork and could not cope with having to wash people etc. I know that there are some of these jobs where you just take people out shopping and for trips. I could do that, but probably not enough salary for me (I pay all bills myself).
Ideally I would like to be a primary school teacher but cannot afford to be a student, it would be about 3 or 4 years out of my life. Maybe if I win the lottery, then I'll do the teacher training.
I wish I could have seen old thin face when he got the letter, it would have been priceless:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

What are they all about? If they want to bother any of us, they will have a job on their hands. I don't know why folk like this bother to post anything, it is of no use to anyone!! It's sooooo much better to be pleasant than to be an a***h***, don't you think? I just don't want our nice thread to be spoilt by trolls!!!

LYNN have you thought about being a "Teachers Assistant" first, my friend does that and done her training around her job. They are always asking her to on to teaching but she don't want to .
