  • wanttobeasaver - its nice to have a treat at least once a week if you ask me :) I had indian this week as my treat, although normally its pizza for me lol. Roll on next weekend ey!

CMC - if u had been really good all day 1 choccy bar wont do any harm :) A good tip is alpen bars. They have about 100 calories and some great tasting ones out there, i love the chocolate one and the chocolate orange one is nice too. Then its a naughty nice thing that isnt really that bad :) oooooooor malteasers as the advert makes them seem great lol.
Im with you on the DD making me fat front lol - i started this thread 2 stone above what i was before i had her, now im about 1st 9 above when i had her :) The power of the thread ey :D

BF, im sure in a day or 2 that 1lb will be gone :) a good week should get rid of it fairly easily (but then having a good week is the hard part as we all know!)

Managed to do 30 mins on the dance mat yesterday which was 250 calories burnt. Does anyone know how many calories we should be aiming to burn a day to get rid of flab? Only i really dont want to maintain this week again! (espesh with this icky tasting detox!). Have to say on the detox front, so looking fwd to having this last one and it being over, they really are vile! Aaaaaaand really looking fwd to a can of soup for dinner! (eating light for weigh day in the morning in the vain hope i will have actually lost this week!)

  • Im at work so shhhhhhhhhh

Just popped on to say i managed to have a guilt free weekend and by making good choices went to KFC, McDonalds (twice) and ate just enough and didnt feel guilty

The result - ive lost one pound over the weekend

And ive notice OH and i have got into the bad habit of eating when not really hungry - when we went to McDonalds (the good time not the breakfast time) we were both peckish - normally would have gone in and had a Big mac meal each and milkshake etc.

But i said i wasnt really hungry and just wanted a Wispa ice cream (i know not the best thing ever but only about 1/3rd of the calories) and OH just had a cheeseburger.

Also we would go to get take out (we did a lot of travelling and were out for almost every meal this weekend so tried to make good choices with what we had) and would have something "while we were waiting" just an extra burger each - that has stopped completely!!!!!

I have noticed that im a bad wife too - i make OH eat my food if i dont want it. Now i dont force it down his throat - but if im full rather than throw something away ill ask him if he wants it - he always reacts like the thought never occured to him (and it probably doesnt) but all the same he will sit there and finish my meal.

Now ive noticed i do this im trying really hard to stop myself, so this morning i made 2 crumpets for breakfast - after i ate one i decided i didnt really want the other one - did i ask OH if he wanted it - NOPE, put it straight into the bin. Less calories for him and a lesson to me to cook less lol

Well done on all of the exercise everyone and BF dont worry about the pound, by being conscious of it you will not be in a position of it creeping up on you. But i do think if you honestly thing you are working hard that should be a bit of a reward - you cant loose all of the time and knowing you are doing your best and making small changes can often be a lot more comforting than a number. Im only saying this from experience - ive been obsessed with the numbers for too long and working on making "life changes" hopefully means that the wieght will stay off and ill be happy - thinking about the numbers makes me miserable if that makes sense

Welcome to the newbies too - this is such a lovely board hope you enjoy "talking" with us

I was very good since my last post (agges ago!!).

I went to the store at the weekend and bought lots of reduced veg/pulses etc and made a great soup, half of which is in the freezer. I've started drinking water from the water machine at work and not buying a big bottle which is saving me a small fortune everyday - think last week I saved nearly £15 in the week not buying water!!

  • Hello all- well done Puzzled, I know the feeling about giving OH food!!!!
My mum gave me this: it will either be WASTE or go on your WAIST - it's your choice... I know which I prefer! I think as a mse, it's harder to WASTE, but as an overweight mse, I try and not cook too much, but still prefer to waste it rather than eat it when I dont need it... does that make sense??

I am at work as well... hiiidee! And I just made myself a cup of tea and RESISTED the cookies in the cupboard. The Monday feeling means if I had opened them I would have had the packet, not just 1 or 2! I am cooking lamb for tea tonight (scrag end, so has been stewing overnight and will reheat it later) so I am keeping myself going with the thought of how yummy that is.....

Hi Kmac! I used to be the same with water. I took it down in steps, ie for the first month I bulk bought little bottles from Aldi and took them into work each day- now I fill up a jug with water from the water machine!

Look back through the posts for SkintLynnes soup receipe; I haven't tried it yet, but Jo has and apparantly it's deliish...

  • Morning ladies, looks like a busy weekend for lots of you but there is a good positive vibe and I it has filled me with determination too!
I am going to leave my car at work and walk everywhere this week! and I am going to stop eating my bodyweight in bread everyday!

I am going camping this weekend and next so they won't be very healthy but if I'm good til then hopefully I will be less likely to pig out as I will be undoing my hard work, well it's worth a try!

I've got a story to tell that I'm quite proud of: on Sat eve I had such a craving for chocolate but none to eat, I still had the craving Sunday so I brought a normal sized bar and ate it really slow, one cube at a time over about two hours! This is unheard of for me, usually I would have got a huge bar and gobbled it all down, what helped was that I was sewing a fancy dress costume for a friend so I had my hands full and my mind preoccupied. Think my eating is partly due to boredom and habit so if I can keep busy in the evenings then hopefully I will stop eating the junk!

Lots of hugs to you all! esp Puzzled, you are doing so well!
Miss Emmy, I love the Alpen bars too, just wish they weren't so expensive!
Thank you for your support Jo, I love this thread, I'v never done this before but I think it is really helping me! Is anyone else in or near Bristol?
