    Right feel free to comment

It does not matter what I have search on the net, it nearly all comes back as "if you over do anything" you are self medicating another issue. Well here is a very shorted version

Pregnant at 16, married a week before my 16th birthday
Husband started hit me 3-4 yrs into marriage
left him three times and went back
finally left him after 13rs of it (met the love of my life DH) ex give him a good beating and put him in hospital
3 yrs of hell from ex
Daughter stayed with ex as she did not know DH (fair comment)
came to live with us aged 16, she was 13 when we split.
    Another two yr of hell

Now that I would say may give me reason to self medicate ?

BUT I have always overspent and over eaten, I used to eat Bro's baby milk in excess.

NOW the truth. I think I MAY have been sexually abused by a member of of my Family. I have very VERY vague details, think i was about 6,7,8 sh.

    WELL THATS THAT OUT PHEW.

I'm in the dance chorus.. My degree is in Drama, Dance and Musical Theatre so I direct/teach/ perform in my free time!! Didnt audition to be in the cast because I was new to Edinburgh so I'm just a wee dancer.

The songs are sticking in my head though. Last night we learned "Big News" and "Summer Holiday"... Its like a soundtrack to a very cheesy work day going on in my head right now. xx

WOW In the dance chorus, I would love to be able to dance. I lurrrrv music. John Miles "music is my first love and it wiill be my last" is soooo me. I am never ever with out music.

  • oh Jo (((hugs))) I don't know what to say pet.

It sounds like an absolute nightmare, and I would say that you have every reason to be in 'trouble' and to have found coping mechanisms along the way.

The important thing is that you have faced up to all these things, enough even so to share them with us and I think that you are really brave to have done so.

Would you feel confident enough to talk these issues out with a doctor? They may be able to help you, or refer you for counselling?

Hugs to you and keep on posting xxx

We have a amateur "Theatrical" theater not far from us. iIhave often thought of "having a go" They often advertise for all kinds of help, back stage and everything. I love the theater and go often, as my friends husband is a sound engineer at the "Theater Royal" in Newcastle and we often get 2FO or free tickets.

  • I think that even without the abuse, living with that from a partner for that many years can cause loads of tumbled feelings and issues that would benefit you to talk about; and we are here to listen and not judge. You've been a star for us, now it's our turn to just listen to you and symathise :)

    Do it Jo. Honestly.

I do it for fun now (I'm a PA in an investment company by day) and its a great way to boost confidence and meet great people. You can do as much or as little as you want and if you are handy with maybe hair/make up, costume or set or even painting then companies will snap you up even if you didnt want to sing/dance/act.

Do it :j its a great escape from "real life" for a couple of hours a week. xxx
    :heart2: Its 12 o'clock and I need your attention :heart2:
