3G mobile broadband-want to return and cancel

Hi MSE's ,
I got 3 mobile broadband a few months ago and its really slow!!!
I rang them when i first got it and explained how slow it was they said even if i cancel , i would have to pay the remaining of the contract , fine.
But 2 months after i got my internet which is £15 at 3GB , a better deal come out the same thing for £7.50 , then another £15 for 5GB!!!
I rang them up and see if i can change or upgrade to this package and they told me no!!! , this does not seem fair at all that i have to deal with VERY SLOW internet that keeps cutting out and i can't cancel without paying the rest of the contract
What can i do??? , i want to leave to go to a different network , change the price plan or them to simply cancel the contract ??
Any advice is appreciated
Thank you

I thought contracts were...contracts.
If the price for new users had gone up, instead of down, would you still be posting?Utinam logica falsa tuam philosophiam totam suffodiant.0 -
Ofocurse not , then it wouldn't be a problem for me
I'm only asking for some advice and help and it is perfectly understandable!!!!
Yes contracts are contracts but i'm just seeing where i stand !!! and if it is possible to cancel due to crappy slow service and constant problems.
I'd appreciate some help
Thank you
And other people probally would be posting if they don't have an existing one, they and are angry why prices have gone up!!! I am great , yes I am

I'm pretty sure you had a 3 day 'cooling off' period when you bought the dongle/contract, if you waited until this period was over before making a complaint then...er...the contract stands, I believe. Much as I sympathise with you re the lower price for new users, "that's life". I have a fixed rate mortgage, the rate has recently dropped, that's tough on me (by more than £15/month
). you took a service which was worth £15/month to you 2 months ago, accept it and be grateful you only have a 12 month contract
As to "this does not seem fair" er....that's life...
Maybe trying the dongle near a window will improve your receprion and speed?Utinam logica falsa tuam philosophiam totam suffodiant.0 -
Ring up and ask again with a different person. Second person I spoke to switched me to a new user tariff of 15GB/month for £15 (usually £30, half price if you have a 3 phone too). And a half price wireless router.
I know they have no obligation whatsoever to do this, but they did.
As for your speed have you tried it in another room? mine is vastly better since I put it in a different room connected to the router.0 -
Thanks for your answers ,
Oh well i suppose i must live with it lol , i just wanted to know where i stand
Its terrible speed and it downloads at 7kb a second , virtually unusable. I spoke to them and i am in a 3G/ HSPDA area but its still super slow , maybe i could get ofcom or ottello involved for there bad service they are providing.
I have an orange mobile broadband aswell and its 10 times faster!!! I will speak to an operator tomorow and hopefully they could do something , but last time they said they couldn't. Not trying to be offensive but there customer service is rubbish and they don't really know what they are on abouit sometimes, at least that is my experience
Thanks

Hi,
I've also got a 3 mobile dongle which I pay £15 a month for. It's the biggest waste of money ever! It keeps freezing, and doesn't even calculate how long I'm on the internet for, so I never actually know how much time I have left.
I've just rang to see how much it would cost to cancel the contract early and they said it would be £208 - that's ridiculous.
I'm really not sure what to do, but I am sick of wasting my money on it when I don't get the service that I'm supposed to get.
Any ideas???0 -

Have you tried it in another room? It might not be practical but it will start to help eliminating reasons why it isn't working properly. You don't have an amount of 'time' either so I'm not sure what you mean.0 -
I've tried it in every room in the house but i still have the same problem.
I get 100 hours per month, and it is supposed to keep a track of the total amount of time I've used, but this doesn't seem to be working either - it's funny how it worked when i first had it!!
I'm going to make a complaint to 3 about it, and try and get out the contract early.0 -

I will say it again - you do not have a number of hours so whether it keeps track of that or not is irrelevant.
You will have a limit of a certain amount of data usage.0
