quido is a cashback site, where you can order goods from hundreds of well known companies by going through them firstly. You just register with quidco dot com - clear your cookies - find the company you wish to purchase from and use the link in the quidco site to go directly to the companies website. I earned about £100 last year. It can take 2-3 months for quidco to pay out to your bank account though, but worth it in the end if your going to be buying anyway.

btw interested in your thread as I'm in the opposite situation live in northern Ireland but have 3 sisters living down south (in dublin area) so is quite costly to ring them.

welcome to the rip off republic
would imagine your shops will have a boom at xmas
everything has gone mad down here god forbid its almcst back to the dark times of the late 80,s
as was mentioned earlier if you have a good broad band like eircom, ntl eth
then the best way is to use Skype to Skype which is free.
or if you have the computer and they have phones then buy skype out credit and phone them(at bottom of skype contacts) using skype from your computer for 0.012 pence per min.(but you need normal broadband)
i use clearwire and that wont support skypeout hence my problem.
so need to get skype phone for parents and then i can contact them for 0.00
WAS DEBT FREE & STILL BAAARRRRRKING

I can't think why skypeout wouldn't be supported since the ISP will be carrying exactly the same data as a normal skype-to-skype call. But anyway.

Have you considered the following option?

Create another skype account. Set up call-forwarding on that account to your parents' phone number. Then simply call that other skype username from your account. It will cost you only skypeout credits, but you won't be using skypeout with your ISP, and the calls will just forward on to your parents' line.

i think the reason they give is something to do with the band widths and is also effected by the fact that they have a blanket block on to torrent sites, was supposed to be sorted out by spring 07 but never happened.
skype out ...its the actual calling of landlines that they don't carry if i was with a normal company like bt. i wouldent have this problem but im 1 mile away and they wont suppley for 1 customer
as to your idea imagia for ten euros it worth a try.

If you can do normal skype to skype calls then my solution should work a treat. Let us know how you get on!

If you have a plain old telephone in Eire and the recieving party has the same www.13434.ie is worth a look at, its a sister company of www.18185.co.uk which MSE recommends a lot.
