We're not quite as high as you mardatha - about 750ft - but yup it's FREEZING :)
Can't have the heating on today, as I've had to use the tumble drier for some stuff, and don't use both on same days.

I`m one of the Tshirt brigade in winter, but that won`t be me next winter that`s for sure! And on a cold day in the summer I would put heating on, but no more. I don`t want to line the likes of Jakes bank balance anymore than necessary.

Everybody who has an unused coal fire in their house should open it up and start using it again. Then see what that does to his smugness!

  • Boycott British Gas so this man's bonus won't be so high next year.

Thier bosses take huge sums in bonusses, such as the guy mentioned above, a £1M salary, it's just obscene. Gross enrichment.

Thats why we have to pay these increases, to ensure that the bosses and major shareholders keep their massive bonuses, dividends and salaries.

Surely it's time that these power companies absorbed some of the rising costs.

I think its a much better idea for him & all his cronies to take a huge wage cut !

That's the answer - If the whole board of Centrica (and other energy compaines) work for nothing for the next year we'd all have really cheap energy.

Assuming there's 16 people on the board of Centrica and they all earn about £1 million, thats £16 million they can give back to the customers of British Gas.

£1 each to their 16 million customers.

I'm not one of the t-shirt brigade. I'm too tight-fisted. If I'm feeling chilly I put extra clothing on.

I'll wear two pair of socks, 2 T-shirts, then jumpers and have been known two pairs of trousers.
It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!

I think the advice is sound - and would have been well recieved if it had come from a different source - for it to come from a man earning £1mil + a year it's just plain insulting. The man makes more profit the more he makes his customers pay - hello! Talk about arrogant!
Seriously hope that comment costs him his job I really really do! Then he can try dealing with real life - oh wait he can't cos he's squirreled his money and mortgages away on the Isle of Man to avoid paying tax... DOH silly me!
£20,000 a week... may his pants be infested with camel lice and his nadgers shrink to the size of raisins!

i wont have my heating on in the day however cold it is. keeping busy and walking the dogs keep me warm.

a lot of people wear t-shirts and shorts in winter and have their heating on full because the're cold!

so yes put winter clothes on and become active and stop being cold in body and bank balance.

    i agree with him!

:rotfl: I'm just trying to get my family used to this idea. I remember when I was young we always wore jumpers in the house in winter and now we are going to be going back to it.;)
