debtfreefuture wrote: »So do I:rolleyes:. I have had it for 30 years (since I was 18), but like you, it dosen't cause too much of a problem. Although now I'm getting older it seems to wear me out more if that makes sense ?
I've had it since 2000, and was just in hospital that year and in 2002. Since then if it ever flares up a quick course of steroids seems to clear it. So, touch wood, it's not much of a problem - I forget I have it most of the time!! But I do feel very tired quite a lot; just had the summer holidays off work and I'm still shattered sometimes, even when I get up in the morning, it's really annoying. I feel I should be rested and full of energy but I know I'll go back to work just as tired as in July at the end of term!!I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Oh my word....don't know what I've done there - posting that in 3 different parts..???:eek:I really need to sort out a new signature!0

Was just going to write a quick update.
Keeping a very close eye on the bank and my money - I get paid tomorrow, £630 and tax credits go in too. But the rent is due on the 13th, so comes out of my account on the 10th, that's £595. So pretty much most of my wages. So I am living off my tax credits this month and child benefit which is due soon. Usually I'd have £320 maintenance but not a sausage now, stupid man, useless.
I'm not sure if I'll manage, or might have to dip into the money put by. I have written to housing benefit to tell them I've lost the maintenance, but I'm not banking on anything coming before the rent is due. Also council tax coming out now - took them since June when I moved in to get it sorted, so it's £101 a month til next year when it should be about £90.
Just when I thought I was going to be managing well and able to pay a little off the loan each month...now I'll have to work hard to pay everything I think...or maybe I'm just not used to it and the finances are ok. I don't know where to start working it out. I have tax credits every week, HB every other week, wages monthly, most outgoings are out on 1st, except the rent on 10th - so worried all the bills will come out on 1st and not leave enough for rent!!
Oh I'm rambling now...just typing random thoughts!!
Better go get ready, we're just going to the park with friends, but it's damp, not too nice. Won't spend, apart from PO, will take picnic. Sold a few buyitnows on ebay, nothing big though. Total of about £9 haha!!
My Grocery challenge going well - under budget and won't spend now til Monday. Girls away with their dad this weekend so that makes it easier!!

Hi Milly
I really love your diary, you sound so organised and motivated, so well done you!
I am a single mum with two girls too so I know how hectic it can be but it sounds like you are tackling your debt and putting lots of effort into being creative when it comes to giving your girls treats and days out.

Ooooh £93 due from Quidco this month, fantastic! So will hit the 'Make £5 a day in Aug' challenge, but think my £500 summer hols challenge is a bit hopeful! Still, with that £93 I'll be not far off £400 and I do have some bits on ebay...not a huge amount though. Must try get some more bits listed.
This time next week I'll be back at work. I don't think I've got as much done during the hols as I'd planned - I still have lots of ebay stuff to list. Amazon's slowed right down, was making lots on there, but I've sold most of my decent stuff!! So need more ways to make money.... I thought of AQA, but it says you need a degree, which I haven't. Mystery shopping would be good, but I get scared off my the fact you're self-employed, I'm sure I'd mess up tax-wise! Matched betting would be great if I could just get myself motivated to sit down and read the stuff! I make myself cross with my procrastinating right now...where's all my motivation gone?
The college work won't be finished which is a shame...I really wanted to do an OU course in supporting learning, but with the NVQ still unfinished I can't sign up to it really. I look at my college books that are permanantly on the table and I say to myslef 'later on'...but of course that never comes!!
I love my job, but the pay is rubbish and I thought about training to be a teacher. It'd be a lot more studying as I don't have a degree, but I just think I can't live on this salary for ever. Unless I become a matched betting expert of course!!!:rotfl:
Anyway.....total spending today at the park.....£4 on drinks. Cheap day out. It was damn cold there though!
Must make a list of things to get sorted beofre I go back to work and girls to school next week. I'll have a think.....;)I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Oooooh Quidco have received more money for me today....£126 scheduled for Aug now, whooppeeeeeee!!!!:beer:I really need to sort out a new signature!0

I don't have a degree or anything close to it and got accepted so don't let that put you off.
I did it for a few months but found I wasn't available at the good earnings times due to my shifts. Have been thinking of going back again though.
Give it a whirl, you've nothing to lose!
JulesDebt at highest May 04 - £65,639.22 - Started DMP with CCCS 1st June 04 & now self managed DMPDebt now 20th December 2015 £31677.13 Paid Off to date £33962.09 - just not going quickly enough!

Thanks for that Jules. So on the application form did you say you didn't have a degree? I saw that question and gave up then!! I do have 3 A-levels and got to Uni, just wasted my time there and left after 2years, silly girl I was:eek:
I might try applying again then, as you said, I have nothing to lose!!I really need to sort out a new signature!0
