My new 'no spending/get myself organised' diary

Thank you debtfreefuture - I think I am getting organised, slowly but surely!
Well, not updated on here for a week or so so here's a quick one before bed.
We had a really good weekend away, it went too quickly of course! Turned up at the hotel my mum had booked and it was hilarious - an old man fast asleep by the entrance (no teeth, mouth open!). Rooms weren't ready, we sat in the lounge (next to a huge pile of old clothes!!), until my mum got fed up(half hr kept waiting!)...dead fish in the fishtank, a dead plant in the hall!!! The chap in charge had been at the hospital getting his varicose veins done so didnt have our rooms ready!!! He did give mum her deposit back and off we went!
Stayed in 2 different hotels over the weekend then - both lovely, especially the second. Girls and I in a turret room, overlooking the sea, fabulous.
Anyway, we stayed at my mums on Sun night, then home on Monday afternoon. Haven't done a lot this week...pottered about, tidied, sorted more stuff for ebaying. Mad that it's almost the weekend again!
I'm a bit worried money-wise though as the ex has lost his job, so I can say goodbye to my £320 a month. I really need it though, my wages pay the rent so without the maintenance I'm living off my tax credits, so it's going to be very tight. Thing is, I've just seen on his facebook page him and the girlfriend are off partying all weekend - an all-dayer on Sat then another Sun evening. Just not fair. I have written to housing benefit to tell them I wont have that chunk of income so hopefully I'll get a little more help with the rent.
Still avoiding the college work, I'm daft. I wanted to do an OU course in Oct, but can't really register for that with the NVQ unfinished. Back to work in less than 2 weeks - how will I cope? I'll be worn out!! I have Crohn's disease which luckily isn't a problem, but I have a tendency to get run down and physically tired a lot, even though I'm off work I do feel shattered a lot! I was taking a short course of steroids in June time, to keep the pains at bay. Thing is, I feel fab when taking them - full of beans and energy, it's mad, I go a bit hyper!! So now I'm not taking them everything feels like more of an effort. Tempting to keep on them but I know my doctor wants me off them when th tummy is settled.
Anyway, what a ramble this has been. I'm enjoying my diary - I always kept one from the age of 13 up, all through my teens - so this is fun!!!
Don't know if anyone's still reading - if you are thank you;)I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -

Great progress there Milly - weekend sounds like fun - except for that first hotel :eek:0
-
Oh that first hotel has given us all a giggle Mizmir!! Just glad we didn't have to sleep or eat there:eek:
Ok, what have I been up to this afternoon....rabbit cage is Ok, will clean it in a couple of days. Girls are out with their friends now so I have actually sat down and done a bit of work, not a lot, but will get back to it after I've had my fix of this site!
Only spent £1.39 today, on the wood shavings. Updated my signature with the few more ebay sales I've had. Sold another item this morning, so that's wrapped up ready to go. The girls did nip along to the postbox for me....but forgot to take the packet with them!! So will do it myself soon.
Ok, back to the college work, dull dull dull:rotfl:I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Well, nothing else done from my list-but I have ben hovering around the college work all afternoon - some of it looking very dull and uninspiring, but must keep at it:p
Girls have 2 friends here to sleep over, so they're all happy, watching tv now.
Heard from ex-h this afternoon, Mr no-money and I'm not happy as he's not giving me a penny it seems this month. Claims he didnt get paid a thing, even though he left the job on the 13th of this month so is due some. His mum has given him money to cover his rent, but nothing to help me as he said would be the case. Oh well, think it's easier to just forget about getting a penny from him. Makes me so cross though that I pay for everything for the girls - G's uniform and new school stuff has cost over £200, no help from him.
Ok, moan over!!!!
Having a quiet weekend, trying to not spend anything much. Meeting my mum and dad on Sun at Chew Valley Lake for coffee, so will take bread for the ducks and hope its nice and dry.
I think I'm doing ok on the Grocery Challenge, I have just under £50 of my budget I think til the end of the month, I'm going til the 31st. We have a lot in the freezer and girls may be with dear father next weekend so that'll be a cheap one.
Off to attempt some work....maybe;)I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -

So do I:rolleyes:. I have had it for 30 years (since I was 18), but like you, it dosen't cause too much of a problem. Although now I'm getting older it seems to wear me out more if that makes sense ?0 -

I've had it since 2000, and was just in hospital that year and in 2002. Since then if it ever flares up a quick course of steroids seems to clear it. So, touch wood, it's not much of a problem - I forget I have it most of the time!!I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
