Ok, well another sale on Amazon 1st thing this morning, £8.50 profit so have added that to my summer hols money. Also added on £70 from Amzon sales that went into my bank yesterday. have moved it into the savings acc. Really pleased with my savingsd acc - in May it was on £60...now it is £870 I think. All I've put in is Amazon money and some Paypal money from ebay sales since the end of May, and also £470 that I got back from Ace cards in admin charges I asked for back! Easy that was.
Another good news bit this morn - heard from housing benefit that they'll be giving me £35 a week towards my rent, which is lovely. Mind you I noticed on the forms that they say I have £10k in capital!! So apparently I have £18 extra a week earned from that capital, which is odd as I only have about £3k saved, leftovers from the house sale. So I have to put it in writing to them. No idea how they got over £10k....

Had a quiet day at home, well a quick trip to Tesco for picnic stuff for tomorrow. We're off to Brean, about an hour away with my sis, her hub and 2 girlies. So we've done some baking this afternoon - choc caramel slices, v v nice, but extrememly sweet!

I've signed up for the August grocery challenge with a target of £200, but surely I should be able to spend less than that. The summer hols might throw it out a bit, but will have a go. I am cooking a lot more, freezing more and not throwing away leftovers like I used to. The book I bought from Amazon arrived today - about feeding the family cheaply and easily. Looks good so far, has lots of child-friendly recipes I'll have a go at!

Anyway, thank you for reading ... if anyone is!!! haha

Hey Milly - found your thread! :D Looks like you are doing great - well done.
Have you seen the £10 a day in August challenge? Might be a good one for you - you seem to be going great guns with ebay etc.

Hi Mizmir - nice to see you here!!
Good idea - I might have a go at that challenge, but maybe make it £5, I'm sure I'm running out of decent stuff to sell, which is awful as I love selling on ebay/ Amazon!! I'm not around tomorrow so might join in over the weekend...got about 20 things listed on ebay and finishing next week, so that might be a good start!

Thank you! Keep reading my waffling...!!!;)

Hi Millie with 20 things listed you should be off to a good start with the challenge. The £10 a day is average of course some days you do really well, others zilch! Doubt I'll get far before next but plan to do a lot of matched betting to make up! :D

Pretty impressed by your SOA, looks like you are doing great! A couple of questions...

    Telephone (land line)................... 20
    Mobile phone............................ 35
Prob a bit high for both really.... you should look into ways to cut these down individually.

    Council tax............................. 101
Is this with the single person discount?

    Groceries etc. ......................... 200
I see you are onto this expense already! Keep track of what you spend and give yourself a target to cut it down to... I think you can do £150 easily.

£0 for haircuts? For you and your girls? Also, see if you can set a bit more aside for brithday/xmas, just so it's one less thing to worry about when it comes round. The savings you make from ideas given in this thread should help!

I'd be inclined to get rid of the Littlewoods card ASAP... you should have enough to pay if off... or could you transfer to the Egg card?

    Keep it up lady!
Inspiration is all you need to become debt free!
