The main bit I wondered about was your birthday/xmas money, do you really only need 120.00 a year for birthdays/xmas?? If so you're very lucky
Also, do you need the ps insurance, would it be covered under your contents insurance anyway? It just seems quite high, to be paying more for the pc insurance than for the rest of your contents put together?

Looking not bad.
If you were careful you could pay off the Littlewoods card over a couple of months wth your surplus.
Hiya, Yes I am planning on paying that asap - it's easy to leave as I only pay £5 a month, but it's only going down by £2 a month due to interest -daft! I do have a catalogue too, which is on about £100 interest feee, but again, I'm paying that off next month as have a little extra in my current acc at the mo. So in Sept I should just have the loan as my debt. I just need focus to stop spending, before the LBM in May I spent a fortune on clothes, stuff for girls, stationary, books...anything really!!!!I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -

Hi there benben,
Well the insurance is laptop cover-I have used it already as my laptop was incredibly slow so they sorted that for me. I haven't got the cover on the main pc anymore, just hope it doesnt go wrong!!
As for the presents, well that £10 was only my estimate for family pressies for the yr, I didnt want to think about Xmas heheheehe-I think last year I did everything for £500 - is that a lot?!!!! I will be cutting down though on ex in-laws things, the ex hub can buy for them from the girls instead of me I think. So my budget will be less this year. Last year we'd just cashed in an endowment policy after we split up so I felt a bit flush!!I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -

I'll try and make extra money ebaying/Amazon etc to pay off the loan, as the egg card is 0%. Then next Sept hopefully move the Egg money to another 0%. That's my vague little plan anyway!!!
It's just good being in control of my money for the first time in years. The ex and I together were awful - neither of us knew what was going out (or cared) - he's not learned from it though and is still in debt and still spending. Still, that's his problem! I now realise how much better off I am without him...took me a while, but got there and am a happy bunny on my own;)I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Hello Milly, just wanted to pop my nose in to say Hi!:D

HI Milly!!!
I will subscribe to your post and keep in touch! Im just having a quick nose before bed. I have to get up 4.30am for work! i think your doing great with the girls and managing. The only things i can see are like the insurence and satelite telly that you could get rid of. A freeview box does just the job!
The only other thing i would say is any extra cash you have...pay off the loan. Earn some interest on it this year and pay off that loan as soon as. The quicker your clear of debt the easier it is to save from there. You're much more motivated.
Keep at it!!

I wasn't criticising your birthday/xmas spends, just jealous really, I'd love to pay 120.00 a year
500.00 seems fine to me, not sure how others feel? I buy a small gift for ex's parents from ds and me, but as for his brothers/sisters etc thats down to him to sort out if he wants to give them a present from ds
I still like his parents, its not their fault their son was off sh**ging someone else instead of taking an interest in his family

Oh no I didn't think you were criticising me at all! I don't budget for Xmas, I worry about that at the time usually. But this year i do have the £500 that I reclaimed from Ace for admin charges that I got back last month. It's in a savings acc so might use some for Xmas. And how similar are our ex's?!! I've seen my ex in-laws today, 3 sis in laws too. They're all v nice, not their fault who their son/brother is! And he thought it fine to move away to SUrrey to be with the new t@rt, so hardly sees his kids, but that's normal he says! Full of the 'I think about them all the time...' - so why move 1 1/2 hrs away?!!! I'll never understand it!!!
Great big waste of space, they must be so proud (i don't think!!)
Rant over......!! Just makes me so mad how he can easily walk away from 2 gorgeous little girls - I miss them if I haven't seen them for a day, never mind weeks!
Just written my very small shopping list for tomorrow, just a few bits of fruit, veg for the week. Done a meal plan but our meals are so dull!
Emily has a gym competition at 9 tomorrow morning, will be home about 12.30 from that and think will just laze about at home.I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
