Joined the NSDs in Sept challenge and am going for 10. Tomorrow won't be as my Tesco shopping is coming, so about £60 spent! But, I remembered girls are staying at their friends on Tues as I'm working on Wed and it's inset so nokids in. So I bought chocolate and cookies for them to take from tesco, instead of buying it on Tues in a local shop - so on Tues I might manage my 1st NSD of Sept! And I reckon Wed will be one too as am at work then straight home. We'll see.

I'm about to update my signature as just sold 3 things on ebay - total of £21.50. Really pleased as I sold E's old Converse boots for £15!

About to have a go at some college work - I can't believe the girls have been out since yest morning at 10.30 and I have done NOTHING!

Hi Millyscarlet, re the phone calls - does ex-H phone when the kids can actually chat with him or just when it suits him? and re the shopping, yes kids do grow out of clothes and yes you try and shop in the sales etc but sometimes it does seem that you spend a fair bit - could you not shop somewhere cheaper (Asda, Tesco etc?)

Can you let the CSA know that he is not paying anything towards the girls BUT he is prepared to go away and party?

To be honest I've not bought them much at all in the last few months - a few sale bits, jeans for £5, hooded jacket £6 - ddont think i could get them any cheaper than that! And made sure I got the sizes for next summer. It's none of his business anyway what I spend money on! I have spent a lot on school stuff, but that's because most of it had to have the school badge on, expensive stuff.
And no I've not been to CSA. We agreed on the maintenance figure before he lost his job, but now obviously that's gone out the window. I know he's only on JSA, but a token £5 would be nice, he just doesn't offer a thing.
Oh why is everything so complicated?!!!

Aw Milly - hugs. Sounds like you've had a tough few days. Can understand your frustration at your ex. - sounds like he is twisting things - and don't see why you shouldn't ring to check the girls are OK! seems reasonable to me. Hope it all gets sorted.

Well done on the quidco money though - that is a good haul - I only ever manage the odd tenner or twenty!

    Thanks for that Mizmir....
As for the Quidco money, I joined at the end of june and haven't had a payout yet (forgot to add bank details duhhhhh) - so that's why this is so high!! I did the Vernons thing today and £20 has tracked, cost me £10 so a £10 profit...and hey I may win on there, you never know!
I will be sooo glad to have my girlies back tomorrow though. I had been looking forward to a bit of quiet time, but I hate any sort of arguing/disagreement, so this weeknd hasn't been great!

I'm even looking forward to going back to school on Wednesday! I need adult company again;)

  • Quidco money has been paid by them - £139. So just waiting for it to appear in my bank account. Have counted that in thr summer hols challenge, as I am officially still on holiday! I didn't quite make the £500 target, but not bad, quite pleased with that. I still have £105 in Paypal, I'm waiting for a buyer to pay for 2 items she won last night, than I'll have £120 and will pop it into my account.
Well it's the last day of the hols for me today. Youngest at school on Thurs then G on Friday. I'm nervous for her starting secondary (but keeping it hidden as she's fine about it!). Also she has to get the coach there and all her friends got allocated the other bus to her, so she doesn't know anyone, makes me sad for her!!!! But she seems ok, I'm just a worrier.
Girls are staying at their friend's tonight so I can get off to work without a rush in the morning. What a shock to my system it'll be, up at 7ish again:eek:

I've tidied up a fair bit and we made fairy cakes. The letting agent are coming to do some periodic check of the house on Thurs, so want it looking perfect! I want to stay here forever;)
Anyway, must get on...not sure with what, but will find something:p

Sounds like she'll be fine - she'll soon get to know the other kids on the bus - see it as an opportunity to make new friends! There are bound to be some others who don't know anyone. Though must be nerve wracking to see them go off to secondary school!
Hope you survive your early mornings - I am struggling back into my routine too!
  • Thank you for the replies....yes the situation with the ex can get a bit much, trying to ignore him now! But I get advice from others and I know it's well meant but sometimes I just want to ignore it all and just get not think about the situation, easier that way! Anything for an easy life sometimes....

And yes, Mizmir, she will be fine won't she? Nothing really fazes them at thatage, she's not worried so why should I?! I'll be glad when the first week is all over, she'll feel like she's been there ages!!

They're at my friend's now, her daughters are friends with my 2. But I'm all on my own again, I don't like it!!! I'm all ready for back to school...maybe I'll go and do some ironing to pass the time...must be bored;)
