Thank you all for the congrats.....:A
I'm not as excited now as I've found out that due to me studying for 2years at uni when I was younger (and dropping out:o) I will probably only get a years funding for this 2year course - might not even be allowed the tuition fee loan (£3225:eek:) - so I felt very grumpy yesterday, but better today. I've applied for funding online to see exactly what I will get. I do have my dad in the US who's offered to help (he can well afford it!). Just feels odd as not seen him since I had my eldest (who's 12!) - but he is insistent he helps.

I'd just hate for that to spoil my chance of studying...grrrrrrr:mad:

Anyway, one bit of nice news - had an email from Southern Electric to say they owe me £118 as I've changed and gone to E-On....I knew I was paying too much each month, but hey, got it back now!!

Asda shopping came tonight - my first time with them so should get £5 back thro' Quidco....it cost £89, but got loads of stuff - 2 weeks worth hopefully;)

Excellent news on the Southern Electric refund, fingers crossed for your uni funding, nothing is ever straightforward in this life.

    Afternoon all:D

Girls have gone with their dad until tomorrow evening, so all on my ownsome for a while;)

So far I've tidied ad dusted the lounge, then hoovered and cleaned over the wooden floor. I've cut the grass in the back garden, sown some cucumber seeds and moved tomato seedlings to bigger pots. I planted a few flower seeds I found around in trays, not sure if they'll grow, but worth a try;) This gardening lark is all new to me, so just seeing how I get on! I weeded a little flower bed too, so if the flower seeds grw they can go in there.

I've done one wash and brought it in, right now the girls bedding is out. I'll do my bedding tomorrow.

I listed a couple more bits on ebay last night - one of girls old mobiles and E's old DS and a game. The bits of clothing I have on there don't have hardly any watchers, so not very hopeful there, but you never know:rolleyes:

Tomorrow I'm going to try and get out early and go off to the big New Look to take back a couple of bits I bought G that didn't fit. I want to find some cheap work trousers for me too, as 3 of the decent ones I have don't fit right now - too snug, dammit:mad: I blame the steroids..... I'm only half a stone heavier than I was a couple of months ago, but it shows around my middle...not nice! I'm trying to lose it, the weight that is, especially with my holiday in 6 weeks - not long now:j

My grocery budget is looking awful.....can't believe how much has been spent on food this month - BUT, I have loads in and we're going to my sis next weekend, so won't need to buy until well after that. Must make a buig effort to stay away from supermarkets now and not be tempted by the offers:o

Right, off to sweep kitchen floor and give that a scrub I think, then I can settle down with a glass of wine for the evening in a nice tidy and clean house (well downstairs will be:p)

Just been on M+S online and bought some school unifrm that DD2 desperately needed - pack of 3 polo shirts, pair of city shorts and a black skirt. Total was £27, but they have 3 for 2 on and I used a 10% code then free delivery code, so got all of it for just over £16....very pleased! Bought her new black socks from ebay last week so that's her sorted for September:T
Eldest will need new trousers - will try New Look for them, usually get cheap ones there. She needs shirts too, but they have to be blue with the floded down collar, not button collar, which M+S don't do:mad: She has darn logo sweatshirts at £16 and the ones she has will last another year I think.
So, probably just school shoes....that's a battle though, agreeing on them!!!

    Morning:p
Up nice and early today:D I'm going to nip out as soon as the shops open to take back the bits I need, hopefully find a cheap pair of work trousers, then get home to enjoy the day of peace!

I haven't got a huge amount to do around here. Here's a quick list to keep me on track:
    • get my bedding on the line (it's in the machine now)
    • Make all beds up
    • sweep/mop kitchen floor
    • dust/hoover upstairs
    • ebay
    • complete 1 dd's passport form - on the other my countersigning person made a mistake so need to go get another form tomorrow:mad::mad:
    • sort out what evidence I need to send Student Finance
    • chuck chicken in oven for tomorrow's dinner
    • ironing
    Ok...that's more than enough!!
I think I'll go and have a shower now then do some ironing before the shops.

    I've had quite a productive day really:D
I did some ironing from 8.30-9.30 then went out to the shops. In Asda I picked up cheap fruit/veg (£1 strawberries, 50 for 5 jacket pots;)). I then went to New Look and returned 2 things and bought dd2 a hooded jumper as she only has one half decent one. In Next I used a voucher to buy a t-shirt for £5, which I don't like so will get a refund! I also swapped some trousers I bought for a different colour. I found dd1 some school trousers, but they're too big round her teeny weeny waist so they'll go back!! SO didn't really spend much at all today:rotfl:

I've done copies of my tax credits awards for the Student Finance lot and another copy to go to the local authority to claim some grant as a lone parent. Passport forms are ready to go tomorrow - going to pay the extra £7ish each and get the check and send....worth it for my peace of mind knowing they'll be back in time:o

I roasted a chicken for tomorrow's dinner, cooked some little sausage rolls for girls lunches and made a quiche - Asda sent me a bucketload of mushrooms with my order - not the 0.2kg I asked for:mad: Anyway, I used them in an omelette last night, in the quiche today and still have tons:rotfl:

All showered and hair washed now, just need to straighten it in a mo. I had it cut on Friday, was getting too long. So now in a nice bob, with more layers in the back....pleased with it, but it looks a right state without straighteners on it:eek:

Right, off to make girls' lunches and do my hair:p

Just looked at my list I wrote for the weekend....all I didn't get done was the ebaying and dust/hoovering upstairs....not to worry;) I did do some bits not on the list (gardening mainly) so quite pleased with my efforts!!

  • Sounds like you have had a good day, you've achieved much more than me :o

Glad you treated yourself to a haircut and that you like it. Don't know how you manage to do it the night before work though, if I straightened my hair then slept on it I would still look like I hadn't bothered with it  so I have to do mine in a morning.

How long is it until your holiday now?
