There, I did it - paid one of the catalogues off. Admittedly it only took £60 to do it...! It was littlewoods direct, and the interest was 35% but as my repayments were only about £7 a month I didn't bother paying it off. But now it's gone...hooray! My other 2 catalogues are low but they have no interest so may leave them and just pay the payments each month. I have one old electron card account, there's about £190 on that, god it was Xmas presents from about 2001, mad that I still have it. The interest on that is 22% I think. Again low monthly payments of about £12, but I now see the interest I'm paying back so will dig out the latest statement and post them a cheque. It's silly as I have the money sitting in my savings account so will be brave and use it!! I'm just enjoying watching my savings creep up hahaha...but it's more satisfying I guess to get rid of some of those daft old debts.

Had a nice quiet day with the girls away. I did my tesco shopping, £42. I don't think I'll manage the GC this month. I'm thinking maybe I'll budget weekly instead of monthly...might have a try at that, £50 a week and no more! I have full cupboards now, loads of rolls, crisps etc for girls lunches. Dinner is on the go now - cottage pie and there'll be enough for me to have some on Tues night too when girls eat an early dinner before E goes to Brownies. I can't eat at 5.30!! Also made a big pot of butternut squash soup so will freeze some of that.

I even did some college work today. Not as much as planned but good to get started...must keep it up!

    Hi Milly.
Is everything OK. I read your diary and noticed you haven't posted for quite a while. Hope things are OK...............

Hi DFF I'm still here! I'm on the forums every day but just reading really. I'm doing ok, just not feeling 100%, tired, cant-be-bothered feeling!!

The girls and I are on half term now. They were with their dad at theweekend but my damn pc dies so I had to go to my dads where he tried to fix it. Still not working though so using the slow, spacebar-less laptop!

Money wise things are ok. I was paid today so the bank account looks healthy for a fewdays!!! I have about £350 in direct debits that comes out on the 1st, then £600 on the 10th for my rent.

We're away this weekend at Pontin's with my sis and her family, so the girls cant wait! That only cost me £66 for the 3 of us for 3nights. Will take lots of snacks etc, from Tesco, and hopefully wont spend a huge amount.

I need tobe getting some college work done, but some of the unit i'm currently working onis on the PC, no I didnt save it to my memory stick. So desperate to get it off the hard drive. I don't like using thelaptop, stupid spacebar is very annoying.

Signed up for the Nov NSDs- going for 12. Half term has meant I haven't done morethan 11 this month. Must go jointhe GC too.

    Ok, enough for now.....

Feeling a bit more enthusiastic and 'with it' now...been reading other people's diaries and it's given me abit of motivation (Benbenandme is a star!!)

Anyway, I've been quite busy these last 2 days, tidying and cleaning before we go away for the weekend. I've packed enough clothes for a week I think, but better to have too much!

Haven't spent much this week, another pair of trousers for G, and I upset E cos I refused to buy her any as she has G's hand-me-downs!! A while ago I'd have felt bad and bought her something too!

I think my bank balance is doing well right now, will see how it is when the rent comes out on the 10th. It's hard to know what I have left each month as I dont have an 'end of month' really - I'm paid monthly and most dds come out on the 1st, but rent is on 10th and I get my tax credits weekly, HB fortnightly. So I need to think of a way of seeing what I have leftover. In theory I have enought to pay some extra on the loan, but I've yet to do so. Arghhhhhhhh...any help appreciated on how best to organise the otgoings/excess etc.

Ok, Em wants laptop now to do half term homework....meanies eh?!!

  • Did you have a good break Milly. I hope so. Do you think you are going to have a flare up? I tend to go very sluggish/tired/can't be bothered just before I have a flare up. I think it's our bodies telling us to slow down !!

    Hi there,
Yes we had a good weekend, will post more later on!
As for the Crohn's, well yes it's definitely a bit unsettled right now. Not bad, but niggling - bit bloated, aching sometimes. I often feel like it at the end of a term, it just catches up with me I think! Anyway I have a nice quiet weekend - girls at their dad's, so will potter around and enjoy the peace!!

Had 2 NSDs this week so far. But, had a very expensive day on Tuesday - I took the PC in as it hadnt worked for a coulpe of weeks, but it was past it, too expensive to repair so bought a new one. £400  But it means I can get back to my college work this weekend. Have had a mess up as paid £30 to transfer my data from old hard drive, then get home and they haven't done all of it! All my recent stuff, college work, photos, music etc not there! So now need to go back in this weekend, what a complete pain. Nothing's easy!!

I must try and do some Xmas shopping over the weekend, online hopefully! I don't have too many people to buy for, just my family and the girls. I have a few bits, but would like to have it done soon. None of it on credit cards this year - I have money in savings I will use. I did get £500 almost from Ace cards and gifts in June, reclaimed admin charges, so that's my Xmas spending. With the girls presents I think I'm on my own this year - last year the ex and I went halves on Santa's presents, then he bought stuff on his own. but I doubt I'll get a penny this year so it's all from me!!!! Also, not sure if they are convinced about Santa so I look more generous when they realise it's me!

Must have a look at the catalogues I have left to pay off, see what else I can close. Still not made any overpayments on the loan I have...the balance is about £4600, and would love to be paying more off. I have some stuff to get on ebay this weekend - buying the PC has given me the shove I needed to sell stuff and make more money!

Will post a weekend list soon I think....

  • Nice quiet weekend for me as the girls are away. Not done much, had my 3rd Nov NSD yesterday. I managed to get 7 things on ebay, 1 book on Amazon and going to have a root about see if I list some more later on.

Here's a list for today, after I've been to Tesco...
    • Clean/tidy girls' room
    • clean/tidy bathroom
    • make soup for me
    • make scotch pancakes for E's breakfast this week
    • clean kitchen floor
    • make girls beds up
    • empty bins throughout house
    • put pile of stuff up attic (it's been waiting a while!)
    • Do some more college work
I have some sheets out blowing on the line, thank goodness for a dry day, I hate having stuff on airers around the house!

Eldest daughter lost her mobile on Friday, I was convinced it was in the house so hunted high and low, then we gave in and thought she had taken it out (she couldnt remember!!!) and we'd seen the last of it.
Then I had a phone call last night from a very kind lady who'd just found it on a coach. She took my address and is posting this week. What a relief! So G must have taken it to school and lost it on the coach on the way. They're not allowed phones at school of course - think this has taught her a lesson though, she was very upset;)

Anyway, must get off and do Tesco shopping. Was very tempted to do it online, save going out the house, but thought I'd save the £5 delivery and also I beleive there's a £3 off £30 spend in the NOTW today, so I'll use that - that's £8 saved from getting it delivered!!!

I need to go to damn PCworld again but can't be bothered - going to enjoy the peace with girls out and try get some work done. E will love me as I'll take her after school with the PC tomorrow.

Anyway, off to get going....didn't wake up til 9.45:eek: ooops!!
