    Hi Bob :hello:

I don't really have any advice, but I just wanted to say I think it's brilliant that you're trying to get on top of things and aren't just sticking your head in the sand hoping it will go away.

And good luck with Amazon, I made almost £500 at the beginning of the year selling dvds/books/games on Amazon. I don't like ebay though, too much like hard work and costs a fortune!!

I hope you'll continue to update us :D

Thanks very much Hayley, but truth be told, my head has been in the sand for far too long already. I only pulled it out today. So I appreciate your really kind words but to be honest I don't feel I've got much to be proud of yet.

Ask me in a week! By then I'll be a teetotal non-smoker who's (hopefully) sold more DVDs. And maybe my prized picture

I disagree, you've taken the first, probably the most difficult step :T So I think it's definitely something to be proud of.

I think everybody on here must have had their heads in the sand at some point or another or we wouldn't be in the situation we are now.

But yeah you'll have to be a teetotal non-smoker or i'm taking my praise back :rotfl: :D

    Hi
with ref to the endowments-do read the bit of this site about reclaiming them. We cashed ours in years agoand binned most of the paperwork-i did have account numbers from 1 piece of paper i kept for tax purposes when we sold them-maybe you did the same?? Anyway just got a letter from N/Rock (who did our mortgage) and they just had us sign a request form so they could get copies of all our paperwork from Legal & General. Its worth a couple of letters and there is a link somewhere to a Which sitewhich creates the letter for you-ill see if i can find it

    good luck Sharon x

Excuse me, who asked you to butt in. Remember Martins advice on the DFW board, we are not here to judge but to offer help and support, you can't do that, so you are not welcome on this thread.

Angel flower, I totally agree. :T

When I was getting DF I sold off anything that wasnt nailed down, but since bieing DF, I have started accumulating a lot of stuff, mainly things that people are giving away and unwanted clothes and stuff. Some clothes , few bags, crap videos Ill never watch again etc etc.

The thing is im not using it, and by having a pound for it, that pound is better in my bank than the dvd ill never watch again.

OP I thnk it wil ldo you good to get rid of all the reminders of your overspending, I got to the point where I could not bear to see all the reminders of waste of money that got me into the mess i got into. Some of the stuff I sold when I was DFW I was amazed how much it was worth - a charity shop vase- 40 quid :D and £1 from somewhere is better than no extra coming in. Its a step forward.

We decided about an hour ago, that we would try to do a carboot this WE, theres one round the corner. If we make £100 well thats a good thing innit :D
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

    Hi Stuntman,
I've found all the old crates of lego and scalextric (loads of it) and I hoping to at least get a few pounds back.

As you know, Lego costs a fortune. If you sell it at a carboot, make sure you choose a price a bit higher than you really want then you can haggle down a bit. I just bought some at a carboot (about half a crate) for £5 and think I got a bargain!
Thanks, mate - I'm on it. Threatened legal action, gave them 28 days, they said they would pay, the 28 day deadline has expired. I'll give them another week in case they paid it on the 28th day. Then I'll have to begin proceedings

I work in credit control. You can complete CCJ forms online, print them off and fax/post them to your customer telling them you are giving them 3 or 5 days. I often find this works without having to spend the money on the initial court costs.
