Not heard back from my mum yet.
Things are pretty tense with me and the g/f though.
Basically my temper has been bad with all the stress - I haven't taken it out on anyone, but I had a massive rant yesterday when I found out it'll cost me £17.50 to change my address with the dvla and we never spoke the rest of the night.
Now I'm getting the "we need to talk" text.

To top it all work is a nightmare - today is a charity fun day and I'm stuck at my desk with an escalation, have been all day. Can't even get time off in here just now.

I'm back up to breaking point I think.

Brody, you're Mum will come round. She maybe just needs a little time. Talk to your girlfriend, tell her how the situation is making you feel. Not only will you feel better, it'll help her understand. I'm not your typical girly girl but the "we need to talk" text is just her way of saying she wants you to open up. Keep calm and explain how you feel. Has she sorted out the items she said she would? If not tell her it would be a weight off your shoulders if she did.

As for the charity fun day, yep been there too, being the only one in the department whilst others went drinking (not a big drinker). Look at it this way, you're the one rolling up your sleeves and getting on with the job, just subtly remind your bosses of that. Brownie points sometimes go a long way! :o

Chin up Brody, you'll get there.

Sorry for the lack of updates - it's been a bad week (is there any other kind?)

Folks have told me to go to hell - according to my sister they are treating everyone like crap apart from their favourite nephew - even my ill gran is being treated this way.
So loan is "my problem" and in fact my dad went as far as to start going on about how he'd never received any money for work he did in our flat. Thing is - he offered, and we paid for all the stuff. Seems he remembers it differently.

There's nearly 3 weeks til pay day & I have no money.
I did some overtime (not enough) so next pay will be a little extra.
G/F has said in no uncertain terms if I can't pay half the bills next month, I'm gone.

Trying to organise stuff for a car boot sale this weekend, but a lot of my stuff is at my folks.
I'll need to go round when they aren't in, as I can't be bothered with the crap.
  • Hi brody

First time I have seen your thread bud and feel for you but stick in there matey. I came on here just a few weeks ago my business has gone pop I have plenty of debt and no income but by breaking it down into manageable pieces I am starting to make a bit of headway.

Just take it one bit at a time, I spoke to AdviceWorks (through Renfrewshire Council) and got to say just getting someone to chat it through with me and give me proper advice has helped me loads.

Re the gf try just letting out how this has got you stressed, I split up with my gf over my debts and it is so much harder dealing with it on your own. I am now getting through to her but it has taken me totally opening up to her, not something that has come easily or naturally but I know I need her and want her, I am sure you feel the same especially with the wee one as well.

In the end of the day even though it doesnt always feel like it money problems are not worth letting your life fall apart over, I have reconciled myself with the fact that I am losing sleep and feeling depressed about it but The Bank aren't so if I cant pay them for now then thats that, when I can I will but until then they can just wait.

Anyway what I'm trying to say mate is break it down to manageable chunks and PM me if you ever need another wee guy just down the road to sound off to.

    Take care

sending you a hug Brody :grouphug: , let your parents calm down. They're definitely not thinking rationally especially if they treating your gran whose ill that way too. As for the nephew don't get jealous, rise above it. Easier said than done I know. Did you girlfriend sort out her side of things financially?

Just a thought but have you thought about being a delivery driver for a local takeaway? Most I know around Glasgow are looking for staff at the moment as the people they had working for them have gone back to college or uni. Ok, its not brilliant wages, usually 1.00 or 1.50 per delivery and you usually get to keep tips. I know someone whose done this (only one night a week) and usually got 50 quid. Yes, they were tired but it paid their petrol for the week and food.

  • Brody - just to second what unixgirl is saying about the home deliveries, may help out until you get yourself on an even keel and I am sure the gf wouldnt say no to a wee takeaway when you finish your shift - most places will give you something at the end of the night as otherwise it gets chucked. Dunno where in Glasgow you are but Domino's (govan area) are after a driver just now posted on Job Centre site today ..... link to job on Job Centre site (hope this is allowed) if not mods please deal with accordingly

Regarding the parents, dont stress on it mate, my folks are upset that I have debt but getting myself depressed about it isnt going to help so I need to crack on with getting a job and then worry about getting back on track with them

Oh and regarding the wee one dont let the cash problems get in the way of being a dad and partner, I split with my wife 7 years ago and every night I miss putting my wee one to bed (right enough I dont miss the ex dragon lol) - if you want a lesson on what not to do in life - Im yer man ...... lol

Unix, Blackclouds - thanks, it means a lot that people on here care.

Thing is, I don't think I can get much lower.

Was trying to change my car as it's too small for her car seat and just found out i've been refused for the finance - even though in over 5 years of being a customer I haven't missed a single car payment.

I'm not jealous of my nephew, just disgusted my folks are being so shallow - they don't even ring to see how my girl is doing or anything.

I don't think the delivery driver thing is viable for me - where I stay I don't know the area at all, and I'm not sleeping, so always exhausted.

I need to try and find a higher paying job, and fast.
