Mini update : spoke to Housing Benefit office about the Review Form. The form was computer generated and I don't need to complete it. They are looking into my case following the email from my Official Receiver, but that was not the reason for me receiving the form

Now, my next problem - they sent my tenancy agreement back and it would appear that Royal Mail have lost it   The council say they can't do anything as they are at the mercy of the Royal Mail, and generally speaking they tell people not to send things by post, but if they do they have no choice but to return them by post. So, what could I need my tenancy agreement for?? Because I think my letting agents charge me for another copy so if I can avoid asking them for another one, I would rather not have to....

  • Had the official response regarding my nil tax code and the cut in my HB:

"This money is then presumably being used to pay back some of your debts or costs involved in your bankruptcy. Whilst I understand that this money is not available for you to use as you wish, it is being used to pay back your debs. In that way it is no different to a deduction being made direct from someone's income (be they wages or benefit) to pay back an official debt. We would not disregard that deduction either"

I can ask for an internal review, but basically they are all going to say exactly the same thing and I can't argue against it. Am going to contact my OR and ask if the nil tax payment to Moon Beever can be suspended since this is causing financial difficulties - what do you reckon my chances are??

Well the last time this came up the OR agreed, so if there was consistancy in the IS service i would say a good chance, but.................

I can see the HB,s point to be honest, and its easily solved by the OR taking it from source like the tax man does, but i suppose thats too obvious:confused:

Like i said though your efectivly paying that tax IPA out of your own pocket, so i wouldnt ask, i would tell them you have not got it to pay, end of
Thats it, i am done, Blind-as-a-Bat has left the forum, for good this time, there is no way I can recover this account, as the password was random, and not recorded, and the email used no longer exits, nor can be recovered to recover the account, goodbye all …………. :(

  • Just stick to your guns on this one merry, because you have lost money you simply have not got it to pay, its cancelled itself out.

I doubt any OR will argue with that reasoning in front of a judge;) :p
