  • Morning :hello:

Update on me. The new house is great, absolutely lovely!! We're sat on the floor in the living room - just sorting out some chairs - we've got boxes all over the place from the move, and I have been 'clothes' shopping in my wardrobe the last few weeks, having found clothes I haven't seen in ages. :D The girls are loving it - haven't heard them laugh so much in ages, it really is great. Thursday I finished knitting a cushion cover - found some old wool and decided to make something a bit individual - so the girls are currently fighting over who gets to sit on the huge red cushion!! :rotfl:

Housing benefit claim got messed up by my Nil Tax Code. I kinda expected it to happen. For those not in the know, once you are on a nil tax code, obviously it shows as you having more income. Even sending them the letter from Moon Beever explaining that I have no choice but to pay them the tax each month makes no difference - if they don't include that tax figure in their calculations they view it as 'paying my debts for me' so I am approx £100 per month worse off because of the nil tax code.

Has been quite an eye-opener sorting out all of this stuff for myself. Contents insurance through the Co-op was no problem at all. Gas/Electric I need to sort out properly with Atlantic - I want to pay by monthly DD, they want me to pay quarterly - do I have a choice does anyone know??

Southern Water have been incredibly well organised - in fact, even without having internet access for ages, most of it was sorted out relatively easily.

CSA application is causing untold grief :( They lost the original application; did nothing with the second application I made; finally started the process off, but now there is a 'technical' problem with my application so it has to go up to Newcastle to be fixed. No dates available on how long it will take to fix, and they can't do the assessment til it comes back. And btw, they don't backdate the assessment  H has said he can't afford to pay me any child support in the meantime, so I am down roughly £250 per month with no end in sight. I have already written a letter to the CSA requesting a special payment - I did the original application back in August - to be heading into December with no resolution through no fault of my own seems a bit much.

My car has turned into a money pit. Cost me £750 to get through a service. Managed to pay that using what would normally have been my share of the rent, etc to the old rented house. Thank God for timing.

Then the driver's window went - if you rolled it down, it came out of it's guides and wouldn't shut again. Garage quoted me £200, but I managed to find the parts needed online, and got it fixed for £100. And last weekend, was driving home with my ladies and it looked like the clutch had gone. I sat in Asda car park crying because I just felt like I really couldn't cope anymore. Fortunately we limped home, and it seems ok, but I felt like I had hit rock bottom.

This weekend, I finally had the spinal injections to help with my slipped discs. So am sat here, hurting all over, and really hoping it turns out to be worth it because me, needles and pain don't go together!!! :p

So there you go, a quick update into Merry's world. I have no idea if H managed to sort out the IPA they wanted him to sign - something like £235 per month - and even though I have told the OR of change of address, etc they haven't asked me to complete a new I&E form  I guess because most of my income is from benefits they don't think it's worth it?

Going to try and catch up with everyone now!!

£235 a month IPA seems wrong to me if it means he can't afford to pay for his chidren's maintenance! Oh Merry it does seem you've had a hard time recently.

Yesterday we were going to replace my car that got repossessed. We say a really good car on ebay and we were also going to let my son practice driving it but we got outbid for it and I'm kind of glad because we really couldn't afford the upkeep.

It's a difficult one. He's says he's running at approx £200 deficit per month without paying me child support or the IPA, but I can't figure out how, and obviously don't have the right to ask anymore. I did suggest he do a SOA and post it so you guys could have a look, but not sure if he did or not.

Bit of a rocky moment for me - checking accounts online, and saw his payment to the online dating agency he uses on the joint account (am trying to get my name off of that at the moment). And yes, it did make me a little bit angry - not that he's using a dating agency, I knew that he was before and since he broke up with his first girlfriend then obviously he's back there - but that he's paying that but not child support. I did start letting it get to me - new tv, new dvd player, etc - and then I realised it wasn't anything to do with me anymore, that I can cope whether he pays me child support or not, and that things should be about me and mine now - not him.

Swings and roundabouts, I'm learning I'm stronger than I thought! :o

Cars are just such a complete and utter minefield  The guy who fixes mine says with all the work I've had done on it, it should fly through it's MOT and do me good for at least the next year but now every time I get in it I'm wondering - how much more are you going to cost me?!!

I didn't realise you could put down dating agency on SOA?
