Bit of a sweeping statement there. I know many roads where such speeds are quite safe and appropriate.

utter tosh, why would it have a 30mph limit then ?

    Calm down...

    Keith has a valid point.

Going too slow is also dangerous. Most of the dangerous stupid drivers i see on the road each day, has nothing to do with speed. And speed camera's are a menace, most police officers would agree - they distract you from your driving and surroundings, think about it. Its not rocket science.

lol, this from somebody who cant read her gas/electric however she can understand spread sheets, the mind boggles:rolleyes: Thank FCUK she is not in charge of Gatso!

LIKE WHAT ? only prats + idiots speed they all deserve to have their licences revoked for a minimum of 1 year after being caught, a second time it should be withdrawn permanently ! no one is forced to speed and if you are not capable of reading your speedo then you probable should not be driving anyway.

    What is more dangerous:-

    A.

    a) Man driving along a country lane at 60mph+ mentally examining the route, taking in entrances and exits at the side of the road, reading the road ahead, looking for other vehicles on roads that join the one he is driving on, and anticipating traffic ahead.

    or

    b) Man driving at 60mph obeying the speed limit, and studying his speedo.

Because often it is easier for councils to give roads blanket 30 limits than actually sit down and decide what would be a sensible speed limit
