And the one most likely to be caught when the police are having a clamp down.
Ever had any points on your licence?0 -

And I hope you get caught out by a hand held police speed trap, I will grin and wave as I pass you, still doing 30 :rotfl:
Then again I wouldn't hold you up I would pull to one side to let you past, see I'm not all bad!0 -

I second post #7.
Ask the court the date the case was laid down. Anything after 12th June 2008, and do as BargeP says.

Its easy to be critical and yes, that was a fair bit over the limit Lynn.
I got 'caught' five years ago, sailing thru a speed camera at 40 in a 30 limit. I was devastated, for a number of reasons: mainly because in all the years I have been driving, (passed my test in 1971!!!) I have had a spotlessly squeaky clean licence, and now it was 'tarnished'. The other reason, was that I couldn't believe that I had driven thru a camera, on a road that I drive every day, knew it was there, and had been oblious to.
Now my 'excuse' is: I had just gotten some bad news.
That is true. What is stupid, is that I should not have driven home, on my own after that.
I accepted the fine, the points and moved on.
The plus side? Great photo of the rear of my car
Suggest you help your friend to face her responsibilities. She has broken the law, several times, and you just have to accept that. Playing ignorant or using her nan as an excuse is not really fair game, is it? Face the consequences and get on with life.Genie

A 40mph road near us was reduced to 30 a few weeks ago, the reason why? A child was killed on it last year so it would be safer to reduce the speed.
The council forget to mention the person who killed the child was traveling at the speed limit and found not guilty as the child cycled into the road without looking.
Anyone sticking bang on 30mph, 40mph, 50mph, 60mph, or 70mph just because it is the limit is much more of a danger than someone who is looking at the risks along the road and driving safely for the conditions.0 -
Can I ask fellow posters what they are looking at when driving thru a camera?
Is it mostly the road and surrounding areas - ie pavement etc.?
Or is it their speedometers and the white lines on the road?
I know what police officers say.....
They are very aware that cameras distract drivers from concentrating on the road and their surroundings.
But cameras are good revenue.Genie
