Well I am now not going anywhere!

Just been out the flat door to lock up before my walk to asda and my key wont work, so weird I thought, so tried the dead bolt and my key wont work in that either.
Got no idea whats going on.... really weird.
My key wouldnt work yesterday either....

Its all a bit freakish if you ask me!
And yes I made sure I had the right key with the right lock (DH's sterling advice!)

Hi Jet.... yes we most certainly will get there, not being able to go to asda has definitely helped with that LOL

    Right then...
Trying to make this a more relevant diary with dashes of waffle for good measure.

Right one of the most easily controllable areas of our spending is food budget.
Now my last online shop came in at £38, now if we spent that each week that would be roughly £160.... bit high for my liking.
So in order to make this weeks shop stretch a bit and to cut back a bit more, I've just done a list of whats in my cupboard and freezer.

    Not done the fridge yet.

So now, I need someone who is good at meal planning.... Im ok at cooking, and DH has commited (now we've got his eye surgery booked in) to no more takeaways!!!
Now as soon as Ive got a plan, I can stick to it, but its one of those things that in my head seems to massive... especially as I have to contend with the fact that DH wont eat pasta or rice.. and he has tried it, so I cant complain too much....

Forgot to add we want really to try and be a bit healthier, I really want to get at least 4 of the recommended 5 a day, mostly from veg this will have to be as I have a severe dislike of fruit.
We've started taking a one a day vitamin to help us along with that.
Its mostly dinners I need help with as lunches are taken care of seperately, and breakfast is a bit of a hit and miss affair for both of us as neither of us are breakfast people.

Ive got items like a slow cooker and steamer so I really do want to get better with cooking us better meals, as opposed to something oven cooked every night.

    PHEW!
I feel pretty good for trying to get organised.

do you like cooking? cause i think you could def cut back on your budget if you start cooking things from scratch, then you wouldnt need the ready made yorkshire puds and shepherds pie mixes etc.

I like cooking but I am the first to hold my hands up to being lazy! When Ive got a day off I make more of an efforts, probs like i will tonight, but Im so lazy when I come in from work as Im on my feet for 9 hours so all I want to do is sit down and do everything from the comfort of the sofa! lol

Confession with the shep's pie mixes these came from my previous flatshare and as DH reckons he doesnt like sheps pie as he refuses to eat mashed potato (dont ask!)theyve not been used up, so ive only just noticed they are there to be honest and go out of date end of next month (that shows how long ive had them LOL!)

ohh you can do loooooads with that! sounds oddly like my cupboards too! ehh how about take some veg chop it up (maybe some chicken if you want) put it in a frypan and cook, add the tin of condensed muchroom soup leave to cool slightly, take the puff pastry make a base stick veg mix in middle put pastry on top put in over for 30-40 minutes ta daaa!

defrost your chicken (i slightly cook it) stick it in the slow cooker along with jar of curry sauce and some veg. will make dinner and left overs can be frozen for later dinners.

mince + bolognese + old el paso dinner kit. put the bolgnese in the fajita and put in a dish pour some sauce and cheese on top stick in over for about 20-30 minutes and you have enchelatas (sorry for dodgy spelling)

    ok i'll stop now x

Thats whats so shameful... theres so much food there and I didnt realise until I wrote it all down.
I mean how many jars of curry sauce does one person need!
    Honestly....

Better get my !!!! in gear deciding what to have tonight....
Im thinking cod fish cakes, green beans, new pots and carrots.

Tomorrow hopefully I'll remember to get some mince out to defrost and have a bolognese, with pasta for me, and pots for DH.

Then Im out sunday as having to go to another store again but I get to go out for dinner and next days breakkie and lunch and claim it all back :)
DH can cook himself some chips and chicken portion or something (he's an oven cook kinda guy!)
