oooooh Im on the x factor tonight too.... its gripping! LOL
OH is busy cleaning the mould off of everything in our bedroom, bless him.
Still cant decide about the eye thin and my mums offer...
ARGH!
It would make OH's dream come true... but then I feel like Im taking the mick with essentially having "taken" the money from her to clear my credit cards in the 1st place.
I'm just wondering if maybe we could take the offer, pay everything off, then put away some savings and then one day pay for something for my mum, just to show we didnt forget.... like a full on holiday or something.... or redecorating a room in her house (her decorating has been going on 21 years)...:)
Any ideas????Wealth is not measured by currency0 -
Morning All,
Busy couple of days in the CAFC household....
We're going out later on today to buy new pillows and duvets which are infested with the damp/mould and probably some new sheets. We've got the money spare and I'm fed up of getting into bed and smelling damp! Cant be good for us either.
DH spent the whole of yesterday evening like a man possessed cleaning everything off with some mould killer. And we chucked out a load of bits that werent needed, so our bedroom is looking rather streamlined LOL
He's also spending his day off washing every piece of clothing we had in the drawers by our beds, as when h got everything out he found the mould have actually got into the drawers not just on the back of the whole unit.
So phew! Thats looking like its getting better, didnt have any condensation on the windows this morning so here's hoping it's going to get better!
I'm also off today travelling to another store to help out the manager there (good friend too) who has been really struggling lately following some changes and she's in a right state, so got an OK for head office for me to go and spend half today there and tomorrow, getting through bits and pieces to help her out before xmas starts! Essentially doing our area managers job, who is "favouring" certain stores i.e the one where she lives over the others. I cant see why its so hard, theres less than 10 shops for pitys sake!
Anyway... all the time Im doing a good job and being ultra helpful, Im more likely to be seen as an asset!
On the subjct of our shop leases, some woman made an offer and told my staff she had bought the shop, she's been rejected, so our lease is still on the market but I really cant see anyone stumping up the money for it, so here's hoping after Christmas they'll take the leases off the market and I can breathe a sigh of relief.
Having a fairly positive couple of days, did our number crunching last night whilst watching an episode of wire in the blood.
Figure we've got £620 which we can use to debt repayments and that will leave us both with a comfortable "spare" for hobbies, entertainment etc. I dont want to be living like a pauper (even though things get done quicker that way) because DH will rebel, (as will I probably) and we'll just end up back at square one!
Hopefully I'll have net access at the hotel tonight so will post some more then, if not I will see you all tomorrow xxWealth is not measured by currency0 -

Baby girl due September 20130 -
Good luck with all that Bella...
Im sure little one is just nervous about change etc, he'll soon be running off to join his new friends.
I evidently didnt get net connection at the hotel.... had a busy day at the other store and possible back there next week for much of the same!
Had bit of a wobble last night, in a lonely hotel room with noone to talk to, but kept it together and did some productive number crunching and planning.
So was quite chuffed that I overcame it really...
DH is now booked in for eye surgery on the 16th, which he is really excited about, god love him!
Im off to ponder my snowball now!Wealth is not measured by currency0 -
evening!
you're doing so well luv! keep it up! exciting OH is getting the surgery, is it weird i was thinking about that today at work?! lol oh well.
Hope you have a good week x0 -
your day must have been boring LOL!
Thnk im gna take my mum up on her offer (if its still there) and clear the debt I owe her.
Still trying to clear up our money for this month ARGH! Keeps me on my toes I guess.
Will try and post the new budget tomorrow, and need to make a list of what I need to get organised.Wealth is not measured by currency0 -
Evening All.
Heres the aforementionned "comfortable budget" i.e gives DH and I some money spare.
Incoming
Me £1146
DH £836
Outgoings - Household
Rent £650
CT £120
BT £21
TV License £11
(the above is all paid from our rent account with A&L)
Outgoings - DH's account
Mobile £28
Cinema Card £13
Interest £7
Outgoings - My account
Mobile £20
Sky £27
Interest £8
Food Budget £175
Outgoings - Debts (All paid from another account with A&L)
Abbey Loan 1 £136.50
Abbey Loan 2 £89.42
Car Loan £147.32
Abbey Zero CC £15 *
Abbey MBNA CC £60 *
I.F.com CC £20 *
Homebase MBNA CC £25 *
* are the minimum payments they get each month from us but this is more than the stipulated minimums from the CC company
These are what the current minimum payments are set up as each month.
I need to change the minimum repayment to the Abbey MBNA card down to £20 and then increase the minimum repayment to the I.F.com card to £70 (this is the highest APR)
So our total expenditure from those numbers is £1532
Total income is £1979
Leaves a surplus of £447
So on top of the minimum set repayments as above we are going to give an extra £116 to paying these back per month
For ease of payments DH is going to pay £620 into our debt account to cover the minimums and the overpayment.
I will be paying £810 into our rent account (as Im the higher earner now)
Hence why the food also comes from my wages as well.
This will leave DH with £168 per month after the payments from his account are made.
It leaves me with £112 per month after the payments are made.
Now we've decided that it does give us both quite a bit of money spare, but this should be easy for us to stick to because of that Plus DH is responsible for paying the car tax/insurance etc from his surplus as I dont drive.
If we dont spend too much money in a month we're going to use it to pay more off the debts but I think at the moment given that we're covering everything plus overpaying, I dont want to cut things right down to the wire and end up just going crazy and having a blowout!
So it's all about getting in the habit really and if we do well with that, we can then review where we are.
Good thing is we're not increasing the debt, it is going down...:TWealth is not measured by currency0 -
