  • ha ha --- im very curious to the 'wrong to buy it' quote --i never said it is wrong to buy the new iphone did I??
hmmm and the "its not got this feature that I personally like so stay clear"." ----I didn't actcually state this..

haha, it seems 'iPhone lovers' take the whole criticism about the iphone very personally dont they??? If you know the result (that you're going to buy the iphone, no matter what) dont bother asking the question

hmm, One of the purposes to forums is to express opinion, there is NO point if there is 20,000 posts by yes-men praising it, you might as well NOT have asked the original question

but just a few more minuses
    ...no adobe Flash,
    ....no copy-and-paste functionality,
    .... no voice dialing.

but. hey, if all this thead is for is to say 'yes' yes yes, then what can I say?

in my humble opinion , when the NEXT iphone comes out and the specs are better then in my opinion it may be 'all what its cracked up to be'

But it'll still look 'wicked like you know' if it doesnt work . people will still be impressed when you are pretending to 'surf the net' on the train, with a beer-soaked mobile phone

I agree that this forum shouldn't be about yes men.

But it definitely shouldn't be about the above. At this point you've passed talking about features and started insulting iphone users :)

That would indicate you're just a tad biased for whatever reason thus your opinion is irellevant in the yes/no argument.

    Thanks.

  • again the "you want" bit.
---you are putting words in my mouth, and FYI, i was considering on buying the iphone until i did (just a little) research about it and found out the lacking specs, but hey they still look really really cool

ha ha "wish people would read the original post and people,,,"

Tayus poster asking 'Is it really all its cracked up to be?'

    ---1 persons opionion - No
the post wasn't "Now could ONLY the people who worship Apple iPhones ask is it a good handset"

    Well said merciless,

I just wish people would read the original post and people that have Iphones answer the question,

    lmao, classic Mac-user logic.

Let's just let people who *would* buy it (and therefore *have* bought it) answer the question...That's the way to ensure a reasoned response.

No i would of done the same to anyone talking about any phone , when you're at a drunk house party , not caring about the quality the picture you can take on the phone ??? -- strange

The next concert i go to where you cannot take in cameras, I (personally) am going to make sure my handset can take the best pics I can afford.

but again, if this thread is only for the iphone yes-men then you obviously don't care about the camera on it do you.

    very nicely put,

...all i am saying is that IF you want to consider other things beside the way it looks then dont deny that there are other handsets on the market, that's all

Come on.. stop being so silly. You know full well I was implying that the iphone camera is not exactly advertised as a fantastic camera. It is a mess about camera for mess about pictures... Just like MOST phones, 2 or 3 megapixel!

And correct. People who want iphones generally aren't looking for a camera :)

The yes men would agree with the features. The no men would talk about problems with the features included for someone who wants an iphone because of what it is....

If I want a product there's no good advising me against a product because a different one has a different feature... I want to know whether the features the product has got is good or not!

At the moment you haven't specified any proper reasons as to what features are bad on the iphone, thus making it a worse product (except for things like cut &paste which is irrelevant to most)

[strike]The fact[/strike] My opinion is - the 3G iPhone is def a step in the right direction and is sexy...*but* there *are* handsets out there that can do the same amount of stuff (with the exception of the swanky interface and stunning good looks) - PLUS have a decent camera, expandability etc - for less money.

So I guess the answer to the question is "yes, the iPhone's all it's cracked up to be - if you want to buy it". But that's fairly obvious..so you have to assume in the OP there's some kinda "is it good value for money" question implied - and on that score, it's hard to argue that some of the specs on the iPhone don't stack up well against other models, especially when the price is factored in...

I certainly haven't seen anything (besides the prettiness) to indicate it's worth that much more money than other handsets - and a lot of people will chose a decent camera etc over the good looks. So it's all personal taste....and as looks are somewhat subjective, I think you have to concede it's probably not all it's hyped to be.

(as an aside, I've only scanned the specs briefly - so if I'm missing some wonderful killer feature, I'm happy to be corrected)

I'd go with a firm "no" on this.

It's sold the same way as the rest of apples products - looks pretty...but that's it...

Personally, I have a k850 at the mo, just because I like the 5mp camera and the MP4 video recording...But if I were to upgrade, I'd be looking HTC or even blackberry before I considered the iPhone...there is, sadly, more to life than being really really good-looking.

HTC is crap if you look at the review on the cnet website it ranked poorley compareed to the iphone
  • I think I would agree with Idiophreak and the 'classic mac-user logic'

""If I want a product there's no good advising me against a product because a different one has a different feature"" ---why on earth not??? it's a world full of options , and there are 100's of handsets to choose from --that's the whole point !!!

"People who want iphones generally aren't looking for a camera" --that surely is a very bold sweeping statement making alot of assumptions about anyone whole would consider buying one is it not????

ha ha "The yes men would agree with the features" -- yes, by definition

"At the moment you haven't specified any proper reasons as to what features are bad on the iphone" --- well when the original Apple Macintosh came out 20 years ago, it didnt have many bad features, but compared with today it is lowsy. That is cause you always compare product A.) to product B.) --made by another company, and what it has to offer. ---you have very strange logic ?????
