I have just completed a 'Food safety' course and have a table of 'bacteria' which might help you have a 'guess' as to what may be causing your problem.;)

I have a scanned image if anybody want's a copy.

I've had dodgy guts before & soonish after eating I've had the results.

This this was very different for any dicky tum I've ever had before:eek:

Two days it lasted, pooing yellow coloured water & having very painful cramps after each time, almost like contractions of the guts:o

NO vomiting at all. Just a little drained & listless (not really surprising:rolleyes: ), but it was all in the intestines.

    TOO MUCH INFORMATION!
    Gone ... or have I?

The hotel might have been 5* from the front and the rooms but its virtually guaranteed that the kitchen won't be five star - it doesnt matter what the rep says because the rep works for the company and they are not really going to admit there is a problem.

The bug is mostly likely to have come from food, money as someone else has said and the heat.

I always get the trotskis when I go somewhere hot but then I always make sure I have some tablets with me that stop it dead in its tracks. I once had extremely bad food poisoning here in the UK - a meat pie from a chip shop - it didnt help that I was camping at the time either:eek:

Because I was in Cairo the day before, I wasn't in the pool for AT LEAST 48 hours before the bout.

    Would that rule it out?

Well I've gone through them all & I've narrowed it down to two.

    Clostridium Perfringens
From faeces of animal & man, soil on vegetables, dust & sewage.
Shows up in 8-22 hours usually 12-18
Diarrhoea, abdominal pain lasts 12-48 hours.

    Campylobacter
From raw meat, poultry, raw/bird pecked milk, untreated water & pets.
Shows up in 1-11 days usually 2-5 days
Abdominal pain, diarrhoea lasts 2-5 days.

Good news is, I'm shocked they all take so long to show & I'm pretty sure I got it from the Cairo trip.
I had lunch in restaurant. I did put some chicken on my plate, ate 1 or 2 tiny bits of it, thought better of it & didn't eat anymore of it, just the veg, pots & pasta & bread.

The perfume show in the afternoon served everyone a hibbicus drink, my husband refused it & asked could he have some water. They brought him a small bottle with a broken seal, he didn't drink it, because the broken seal worried him. But I had already drunk mine & he had tried some of the one they insisted on leaving him.

All the others have vomiting & other symptoms, which I didn't have.

I can write a review of the hotel confident I didn't get it there, I really didn't know they all took so long to show up.
