  • I've gone for it so see what happens. The bid I have put in is quite low but we shall see.

This poster reckons the range of bids is $60-$130 for the Marriott. Though the $60 win was in 2003.

I've done a quick search and I'd say $70 may be the lowest bid.

    What's their web-site rate?
  • Its about £100 a night at the moment. As I said the only thing I'm worried about is being in a hotel that wil cost me £20 in taxi fares to get back into the city centre. Shame you can't stipulate marriott hotels only

Priceline uses big brand names at the 4* level. You could see if there are any a long way out of the centre.

If it's "just" the taxi fare that is bothering you then have a maximum bid of say £40.

Looking at past history (there's a recent post on this thread-Marriott won at £40.) the Marriott looks like the likely outcome of a successful PL win and I bet it goes at £40.00
  • I got the Marriott city centre for around £48 a night which is less than half price. Bit gutted it wasnt the Royal but can't complain in the slightest as I'm getting 2 nights for the price of 1. Thanks for the help.

Was that with a £40 bid?

    Well done anyway
  • Yes it was. £40 with the charges and vat on top. Absolute bargain to be fair. I will definitely use priceline again.

Really interesting thread and just tried the Priceline site - however if I wanted a twin bed room is there anyway to specify that?

Thanks for any help offered in advance

You cannot specify bed type in advance but I've never had a problem requesting and being granted my preferred bed type by contacting the hotel after a winning bid.

  • Just got the Grosvenor House, JW Marriott in London for a bargain of £116 for this weekend :) Official website price is £218!
I'm going for my QuidCo £million!
    Total So Far: £9923.58
