Do you not get bills sent to your house, even though you are a tenant?
But anyway, Lloyds TSB cash account only needs a passport or driving licenece, you only need proof of address if you can't provide one of these.

I opened an account at Lloyds in May, and I only needed a passport, no address proof was asked forYou don't need photo ID to open the account get a P2 TAX Code notice from the inland revenue and a utility bill does the job, good luck.
Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.0 -

I have a passport for ID, but no driving licence, no bank statements, utilities are included in my rent so no bills, and I only have a mobile phone. I have a tenancy agreement and medical card, but these don't seem to be acceptable. Any ideas?
Hi
Have you tried a Council Tax bill or income tax code notice?0 -
My husband opened an account online with Natwest and didn't show any documents (as far as I am aware). It is a basic-type one but he has a cheque book with it, the fool...0

I called yorkshire bank today and enquired about their basic bank account.
Was told:
"Anyone & everyone can open a basic account with YB. No credit checks are performed and it doesnt matter if you have CCJ's or if you are/have been bankrupt.
There's no overdraft facility, but you do get a maestro debit card"
music to my ears. should be opening one tomorrow.0 -

i was told at the yorkshire/clydesdale bank that if you have had a recent bankrupt then they wont take you apart from that you would be okay even if you have ccj etc0 -
I applied for a readycash account with YB yesterday, had a bit of trouble confirming my identity cus i'd just moved house & am not on the electoral roll. Popped in again today, signed the forms and had my account opened.
Just waiting for my maestro card and account details through the post. : )0 -

Good choice, but please be aware though that unless they have very recently changed their rules they do not allow an undischarged bankrupt for their Readycash account.
Worth knowing though that I opened one straight after discharge and never mentioned my bankruptcy. In fact, when I went in for my appointment the lady who opened my account was training someone, and explaining to the trainee she said "we don't credit check this account, so tick this box. We just need to do an ID chech and to check they're not currently bankrupt". I blushed at this point as I'd only been discharged a week, but sure enough it went through OK, no questions asked.
Just wanted people to be aware of this as I'd hate an undischarged bankrupt being embarrassed.0 -
Ooh, I should add that when I went to open my account with Yorkshire Bank, i was quized about my reasons for opening the account.
I dunno if a wrong answer = no account, but they seemed interested.0
