Whats the best thing you have bought that has actually SAVED you money?

Mine is my beloved Rice Cooker (Argos half price £9.99) about a year ago

We eat a lot of rice (nice n cheap!!), but my cooking is 'pants!' so would always buy bags of ready cooked rice @£1.25.

The rice cooker is so simple and quick and easy to clean!

Whats the best thing you've bought as a money saver?

slow cooker. even the cheapest cuts of meat come out really tender. Plus of course you prepare it all hours before and leave to cook so no more coming in starving and calling a take away or stopping off at a shop of a micro ready meal thus saving pennies

Have been thinking about buying of these for a while, do they cost a lot to run? Will I be ok with it considering my 'pants' cooking ability?

How do I use it?
Just looked on Argos website and they have a 3.5 litre one on offer for £19.99 and I have a voucher for £15.99

weirdly my best moneysaving purchase was also my biggest and most stupid purchase! I bought an iphone last year, i was nearly 9 grand in debt,but decided it was a really good idea to pay 269 quid for a phone and sign up for a 45 quid a month contract, that was my light bulb moment, got home from the shop and thought what the hell have i done. But if it wasnt for that phone i think i would still be spending like a pillock, i spend hours on the internet on it (all inclusive internet minutes) and found this site, which has been my saving grace in paying off my debt, now i hope to be debt free by this october.

My slow cooker was good buy as I always use it and with kids you can eat at different times and keeps ok for a while. Check out recipe thread on old style

my best buy was my three tier steamer. i used to have all four rings going
with4 different pans of vegetables. But with the steamer the meal
can all be cooked in one go. meat on the bottom, potatoes on the next and
all the veg in the top layer. The saving on electric mujst be major.
