  • You can get a 2GB Kingston memory card for £5.71 with free delivery on the W2W website

    http://w2w.com/moreInfo.asp?code=KINSD2GB&tabGroup=GROUP-PC&tabGrpCode=COMP1&tabselect=TAB4

Kingston is a good make and will probably be more reliable than the own brand play ones, although SD cards rarely go wrong.

Only problem with W2W i've found is they take quite a long time to actually send off the item to you
  • The best site for cheap memory that I have discovered is https://www.aria.co.uk

    For example 1Gb memory stick £0.45 +VAT

    http://www.aria.co.uk/SuperSpecials/Other+products/1GB+Arianet+Silver+Shadow+Pen+Drive+?productId=30817

For other stuff, visit the site and click the 'deals for today' or 'superspecials' tabs

SVP do a good range of SD cards at decent prices, for example
Kingston Secure Digital 1Mb at £2.98 and 2Gb at £5.24 + p&p £1.63 if you choose Royal mail.

FWIW I have been a customer of SVP for several years and always found them to be trustworthy and they give a first class service. :)

SVP also offer Sandisk cards from £3.29 for 1Gb and £4.24 for 2Gb.

There is a company called Simply Electronics that sells via Amazon. Sandisk 2gb Micro SD cards are .99p plus £4.50 postage.

Have used them 3 times now and very quick delivery.
  • Best deal I have found is from www.365memory.com
    You can get a 1GB High Speed SD card for £0.00 + £2.99 p&P.

Got one through the post last week and works fine... There are absolutely no catches apart from being a one per customer offer only... but hey, you all know how to be many customers right.. ;) !!
  • [FONT=verdana,arial,helvetica][SIZE=-1]I've just ordered a 2gb SD card from Amazon - £4.30 including postage.

Transcend - Flash memory card - 2 GB - SD Memory Card

  • 2GB SD Cards from crucial.com/uk (good brand) £5.28 inc first class post.

p.s. do we consider 'own brand' SD cards to be as reliable/good quality as 'branded' (Kingston/Sandisk) ones?

In my experience, they're often one and the same. Whilst there are no guarantees, I've peeled back the sticker on a Play-branded card to reveal a Toshiba logo underneath.

Generally it's much more important to get cards which are rated fast enough for the device you want to use them in. The brand means less, since there are so many re-badged versions of the same cards.

The exception to this rule is with the Sandisk Extreme 3 cards, which are in a league of their own when it comes to durability.
