Yes it does. I knew Barclays were.

Is it done at the time of application then?

How did HSBC pass you when RBS had that on there?

I went for HSBC prior to Natwest adding me (phew) or it would have been a straight decline! It is done when you apply, and the rules are built into the subscriber (lender) portal so say when you click submit on a Natwest account; the data is sent via N Hunter systems which check for consistencies and send a response with match/fail/query kind of replies. If it matches and is genuine then the report is passed as fine (takes a millsecond to decifer mate) - if it fails the lender will auto transfer to a refer status and if it is evidently fraud, then it would decline.

It is built into and shared with the lenders existing software packages mate.

For example, on one of mine, Barclays - they had input C Musprat where my work address should have been, as a result Barclays refused me. Upon querying this with Hunter, it was removed and Barclays confirmed C Musprat was the staff member in underwriting who rejected me.

That major flaw was enough to trigger a rule and force a rejection, even though no fault of my own. But it was not derogatory,

As for time scales - bad data (applicant refer) stays for 6yrs, other data is 1yr (similar to a CRA search then)....
    :o 2010 - year of the troll :o

no adverse mate but everything opened in the last 18months but paying on time. i had a smart saver account with the coop, i guess that helped with the e verification.

the checks i am not too sure aboit, i guess they want to check my coop smart account details just to identify me as an exisitng customer of the bank.

ill ring them up tomorrow morning to find out whats going on. they should nt ask me for more ID though as i am with the Coop Bank already with a savings facility with them.

do they give an instant decision?
Yes, you put in your details and they take a £3 security payment and then account open. BEAWARE they do not give you your customer number then an there so make sure everything you are going to order is in the checkout or basket. You can however order over the phone whilst you are awaiting your customer number.
