No, never done Hunters cos been way too busy mate - if you need specifics ask away and i'll tell you how they work etc...
Did you send a letter to Hunters in the end?0 -
So it's worth send a S.A.R to Synectics then.
More information than you suspected then?
Do they show address length history? I think me not being on the ER at my previous address may be causing me some harm.0 -
Did you send a letter to Hunters in the end?
Yes mate - I told you I did and they replied explaining what the fields meant......
Ok, Ok - i'll upload all my SAR stuff in a new thread when i get it all and all the explanations too. I'm only awaiting Experian and HBOS......
However am awaiting a few replies as bits of the SAR makes no sense whatsoever to me!2010 - year of the troll

Why are you requesting information from HBOS?0 -

No mate, it lists everything personal you put on the form for instance:
forename
middle name
surname
d.o.b
address
email address
phone
work phone
mobile phone
salary
thats about it - its kind of an abbreviated version of the application, but my question to Synectics was what purpose do they serve and how are they triggered, for instance because I have a few sheets does this mean it is derogatory or not? Is it classed as a credit search or is it like a default/fraud marker? See where i'm coming from? I need to know these answers prior to continuing with scans etc otherwise it will get confusing mate.
I'll do it all at once.2010 - year of the troll

N Hunter is soooo complicated mate - its a nighmare! I'll try to explain the best I can.....
Right the way N Hunter works is that they have set criteria, lets call them rules, that are triggered if the data significantly differs from the average of your usual applications.
In a nutshell, this works fine unless your first ever credit application was fraudulent - as they base their initial criteria about you on your applications not a set of predefined data, say from Experian or Equifax. It is data that you've provided to lenders in your application.
So in theory, you apply to HSBC for a bank account on Monday and say you earn £30k and have lived at address for 5yrs and worked in same work for 10yrs.
Then say an hour later you apply to Natwest and say you earn £50k, lived at address for 10yrs and worked for same employer for 20yrs - this would flag an alert and would show the text 'applicant refer' which basically means it's a fraud warning and other lenders will see this - only those that are linked into N Hunter. Think cifas but N Hunter version.
Now, their criteria is set that if you change employer/salary etc within a reasonable timeframe, i.e. 2wks or more since your last application then it would not alert the triggers or rules. Are you following?
So, although N Hunter will have data about you, it doesn't matter so long as the text applicant refer does not appear. If it does then you need to sort it out as this means that each time you apply for something, the prospective lender will be forced to ring you or the previous lender that added the alert, for an explanation - you cannot be approved without them speaking to find out the cause - most lenders just decline at this point and dont bother ringing!.
The main companies that use N Hunter are all the main banks and building societies. HSBC/RBS/Barclays/Lloyds - they all have a report on me ;-)
Only RBS has applicant refer and i've written to them to have it removed.
Make sense mate?2010 - year of the troll

Yes it does. I knew Barclays were.
Is it done at the time of application then?
How did HSBC pass you when RBS had that on there?0
