I went to post a parcel in my local po the other day. As I approached the counter post master says "no" I said "excuse me" he said "I can't take that its wednesday" now it wasn't a big parcel so I said "I'msorry, but your a post office" he replied " can't take that, its wednesday", now I don't know why he couldn't take my parcel at 11am on a wednesday I probably never will , but I was not urprised to see an appeal in my local paper few weeks later regarding the proposed closing of same PO, I couldn't help thinking that maybe if he did more business rather than stopping people posting things he may not have been considered for closure!Duct tape is like the force. It has a light side, a dark side, and it holds the world together."

I very rarely frequent the PO but I needed a couple of e1-11 forms so nipped in the otherday!
All I asked was "can I have two e1-11 forms"
I was then standing there for at least 10mins being asked about a passport,a loan,a credit card, travel insurance, car insurance, a cash card you use abroad and how good it is that it only charges £2 for every atm withdrawal  £2:eek:
I was brain dead by the time i walked away and couldn't stop saying no thank you,no thank you. lol!!!!:rotfl: :rotfl:
Certainly is a while since you were in a Post Office - E111 forms were done away with about 3 or 4 years ago !!Be ALERT - The world needs more LERTS0 -

old people shouldn't be allowed near anything made within the last 20 years.
if you're over 60 and are clearly not good with technology, they should be made to use a signature
lol, Im in full agreement :rotfl:
Our Dr just installed a touch screen computerised appointment system, watching my mother trying to use it is hysterical. Watching one old dear saying hello to it and getting louder and louder until someone showed her what to do was the highlight of my morning.0 -

When i was doing ebay in a biggish way, my local sub post office would let me drop off the parcels, mark on them how they had to go, then pay for them all on a friday - with a neatly marked up bill and all paperwork sitting waiting for me. Very handy.0

Thank you for making me and my partner cry with laughter after I had read this outloud!!!:rotfl:0 -
The last time I was posting something at the local sub post office, the woman in front of me was trying to withdraw money using her bank card. She put the card in, typed her PIN, and then yanked the card out each time before it had a chance to do anything. She must have done this about five times. Each time the cashier would tell her to leave the card in and not pull it out, and each time she would pull it right out.
I did see the funny side, and everyone in the queue had a quiet chuckle about how ridiculous it got, but still, it was annoying to say the least.
Lol when I used to work in a shop I've had people do the exact same thing on the chip n pin "oh I thought it said remove card", and you have to start the transaction all over again
Problem made worse by the fact that tescos etc have huge budgets to spend on superfast card connections, and we didn't in our small shop
Back to post, there have been a couple occasions where my package comes in at 1g or 2g over (I weigh before leaving the house), and they will quite often send it at the cheaper rate
Also where possible I use prepaid postage, means I can drop the item off at any time of the day or night0
