Those moments at the post office that make you go arrrrrghh!!

Don't mind me, I just need to have a little rant...

Last week I made the mistake of using the PO in the city centre. The man behind the counter took my package, pushed it all the way through his letter guide from one end to the other, and as it landed with a 'plop' on his counter, said "that will have to go as a packet". I wonder what his criteria is? That made the postage more than double what it should have been.

Then even worse, today I had a parcel which weighed in on the PO scales at exactly... 1.002kg. That extra 0.002 cost me an extra £1.20. :( I would have shaved off a bit of bubble wrap if I had known.

I have been known to take a parcel home and re-do the parcel tape to make it lighter! Much to the ridicule of the staff, I might add! Sorry, but I'm not 'Give the PO extra cash for no bloody good reason charity'
    My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j

Went to a smaller post office as could not park near main office today. The cashier asked if I would refrain from returning with so many parcels during the lunch period as unfair on staff and other users.I only had 6 parcels and that was because i ended all the auctions at the same time as going away.I completed 4 recorded delivery slips before going to the PO and then got told off for not completing the proof of postage slips before going on the other two.!!! Think i may stick to the big main post office next time!! lol

This really annoys me...especially when you've been queuing for an hour behind 1 - Someone making a passport application who hasn't got a clue how it should have been filled in and trying to remedy it there and then. 2 - Someone getting their car tax who has out of date insurance and/or mot etc. 3 - Little old lady doing her banking and having a good old gossip at the same time. Sending half a dozen parcels takes a fraction of the time of the above.

i just hate people in post offices.

i sometimes think that if i elbow that granny out of the way, climb over the idiots who can't read a passport form properly and get my parcels posted, life would be a lot easier.

The last time I was posting something at the local sub post office, the woman in front of me was trying to withdraw money using her bank card. She put the card in, typed her PIN, and then yanked the card out each time before it had a chance to do anything. She must have done this about five times. Each time the cashier would tell her to leave the card in and not pull it out, and each time she would pull it right out.

I did see the funny side, and everyone in the queue had a quiet chuckle about how ridiculous it got, but still, it was annoying to say the least.

old people shouldn't be allowed near anything made within the last 20 years.

if you're over 60 and are clearly not good with technology, they should be made to use a signature

Now now, these people fought a war so we could have the freedom to be stuck behind them in the queue!

You are a better woman than me, fay! :D I was on my way shopping and after standing in the queue for 1/2 an hour I was just glad not to be carrying it any more!!

There is one upside to being so terrible at calculating postage though... my 30 day DSR for P&P is at 5.0. *touches wood*

I very rarely frequent the PO but I needed a couple of e1-11 forms so nipped in the otherday!
All I asked was "can I have two e1-11 forms"
I was then standing there for at least 10mins being asked about a passport,a loan,a credit card, travel insurance, car insurance, a cash card you use abroad and how good it is that it only charges £2 for every atm withdrawal  £2:eek:
I was brain dead by the time i walked away and couldn't stop saying no thank you,no thank you. lol!!!!:rotfl: :rotfl:
