Nothing to add to the thread per se,

But Rob baited you, and Amy, you bit! Makes you both as guilty as each other in my opinion. There'll always be people who start to get personal on these boards, and it does look like the 'huggies' take offence at it more than anyone else.. therefore as a 'huggie' you're likely to be baited by someone who fancies a laugh at your expense,... and biting back gives them that laugh.

My advice on your dilemna, same as the others. Keep paying off your debts, keep saving, make a budget.. blah blah... And if you want to be more au fait with the terminology then read and post on this forum more often. Ask questions (as many as you like), and ignore those who want to bait you. It's really not personal, to most ppl they've forgotten they've even written the offensive post the second they've clicked 'submit reply'.

--- edit -- I'm not calling you a huggy personally! Nothing I've said above is personal.

    Insulting? -- Where?

Just your general patronising attitude, you and snooze must be very proud of yourselves, what makes you better than anyone else on here? Obviously you have your very own 'Huggy' club where you try to put others down.
Amy asked a question, she wanted advice and a lot of kind people have given her sensible answers-does that make them huggys? quick better start insulting them as well...or does it not count if they're on your board and not DFW...

Pls be nice to all MoneySavers. There's no such thing as a stupid question, and even if you disagree courtesy helps.

suggest you read the forum rules.

I am a huggie if thats is what you want to call us. I am also a regular and thus a "time waster" in some peoples opinions. I have posted on many boards, sometimes with kind advice, sometimes with "c'mon mate get real and smell the coffee" advice. it is all very well to say "don't bite" but what was amy meant to do? say "oh yeah guys you're right, sorry i'll go back to being what you think i am." What happened here previously should not be used to brand the people on the DFW board, many many many of which DO want to ask relevant questions, DO want to hear honest answers and DO want the benefit of the advice on other boards, with names and ridicule purely because they happen to be in debt. How condescending can you get. It is about time that people on these different boards realised that we are all here for a common purpose, whether that be getting advice, saving money or finding our way out of a fix. is the human race really in that much of a state that even on an internet forum we have to have "gangs" and "name calling". we are all adults here. lets start acting like adults shall we.

I'm wasting my time thinking what the opposite of Huggy is....is it non-Huggy? Something cold and distant...hmmm...

Can i ask one of you huggies and the question is why have all you posts got migraine inducing pictures in them....they hurt my eyes...
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.
