  • Today in my remoska...

I am doing bread again but I made the dough last night before I went to bed, left it in the fridge coverd in olive oil and cling film. When I woke up this morning I knocked it back and re kneaded it and then slashed a cross in the top and put it in my remoska pan. When it has doubled in size I'll cook it. It has made it a bit easier doing it the night before. I haven't used my panny for ages now!

I have a Grand & there is either 2 or 3 of us, I keep a few circles of baking parchment handy & pop them on top if I think the top is going to catch before the food is cooked through, usually things like bread pudding, flapjacks etc.

Can anybody tell me if they've found a dish that fits neatly inside the standard remoska, and where they got it ? I want it to do rice pud without it sticking.:)
  • Hi There

We are a family of 3 with healthy appetites...what size would you suggest? I normally make extra to have for lunch the next day. I would really love to be able to cook the main and sides (spuds, roasted veg etc) all at the same time....could I also cook a pudding in there too if I went for the Grande?

Can I ask how heavy it is? My hands/muscles ect are all very weak.

    Thanks

    PP

This week I am having a 'use up the freezer stuff' challenge week. I shall extract 3 things a day and have to feed OH and me on them. I think our weeks' food may well be disgusting but I am sure the Remoska will help here if anything can ! I just wanted to say that I found a little paperback cook book, which is recipes from the Good Food mag, all collected together. I have the 'One Pot Cooking' one and it seems completely full of really nice looking recipes which could be done in the Remoska. It was quite cheap (as are most of the recipe ingredients - no swordfish or fillet steak, thank goodness) and will cheer us up when the things I make from the freezer get us down too much. I do love this thread !

PP, it isnt heavy really. Half the weight of a slow cooker, and even then its only the lid thats heavy, the pan is ok and the stand is ok.
