  • The no-stick (teflon?) is coming off my remoska but when I rang Lakeland awhile ago to mention it, the woman on the phone said "well, yes we do have a guarantee, but don't you think you've gotten your money's worth from it and should buy a new one now?" I was a bit surprised, as I've never had someone from Lakeland say that - and I have returned a few things over the years, all for very legitimate reasons. But then I do buy quite a few things there as well - though not so much now after that.
    Saving, decluttering and doing alright.

Hmmm I did have a similar thing said to me. Not about the Remoska but querying something I had bought. Put me off a bit to be honest.

So did you take the Remoska back? I don't fancy being grilled by the staff but it is a bit unsafe when it blows the fuse!!

Mine was well-used for about four years. I didn't bother returning it because I live in France now and it would not have been worth the postage. Having said that, I did think it was fantastic when I first bought it, but the halogen oven has surpassed it in my eyes because it can do so much more. Progress, I suppose!

Yes and I feel so much better cooking in glass than flaky teflon!

I even managed to dehydrate some garlic in the halogen so its multipurpose!

Oh dear, I may have to find space for a halogen ;) It sounds great especially as I live alone so cooking for one, and can't justify using the oven that often.
What sort of things do you cook in them? Are they suitable for cooking for one person?
And re the Remoska and the lights, I was reading some of the older posts in this thread and it seems to happen quite often.

I bought the 12 ltr one which is pretty big but I also bought a 7 ltr one for hubby as he lives away from home with his work during the week and cooks for one.

He likes the 7 ltr and has cooked quite a lot of different things in it, including toad in the hole, curries in small pots, grilling things and also steaming veg in a little tin foil parcel, then when nearly done he adds a salmon portion and its a one pot meal.

I love doing jacket spuds in mine. When I was eating alone last week I made three spuds at one time, then on day two I cut the other two spuds up and made spicy wedges... I love it!
  • We bought the Grande Remoska about three months ago. I must admit I was very sceptical at first. However so far we have been very pleased with it. I have a large combination oven and the Remoska replaces it for a majority of cooking saving money and can be more convenient. I am thinking of getting the standard size Remoska as well as for some things the Grande is just too big even if there is the three of us.
  • Anyone else still using the original remoskas? I will be starting lunch in the standard shortly and will be plugging it into a power usage meter, it`ll be interesting to see how many kwh it uses to bake some small potatoes and and some roast veg and it will heat quiche up on the rack. Are you replacing it for the new one in time?

two of the big pluses for me are not having to squat down to the floor to get into my food and the easy washing up
  • I bought the baby remoska from Gumtree about a month ago and I've hardly used the cooker since.

Not disappointed in anything I've made : roasted peppers, baked mushrooms, omelettes ,cauliflower cheese, broccoli in creamy sauce, fish and several types of soup all lovely and with minimal intervention required!

I had put off purchasing because of the cost and would have liked the standard size ideally but I do rate the results and IMHO better than a slow cooker for vegetable dishes
  • 1/2 a kwh for an hours cooking. Cheap, no more than 9p, all in

Made a chicken casserole today, lovely and moist
