no, sorry jaybee, i seem to recall i put it away cos i prefer my slow cooker. got it out, but not used it yet, tonights stew in the slow cooker.
160 - pleeeeze get your Remoska out and give another  try. I've got a week's holiday the week after next (so can visit Lakeland at Salisbury) and I'm desperate to know if I NEED to buy one or not!!!!! I've been looking for years at them but haven't been able to make up my mind / justify the cost.
Following all the praise of solw cookers I've just bought one of them (and am v pleased with it) but I may need a Remolska as well - it's up to you to convince me!!!!
My shopping list for Lakeland is growing daily!!! :o

Thanks. Just going off to look at the Tips for a Cold thread. I don't do colds very well. Glass of wine has helped (a bit) - maybe I should have some more. . . .

Really good news though - I sent an email to Lakeland asking why they didn'y have a branch around here and they sent a reply saying that they will be opening one at Castlepoint, Bournemouth next year!!!!!! Can't wait. (Partner not well pleased though :-/).

i drive up to the lakes to the one there, excuse for a day out for the kids too. but its lovely. you are so lucky getting one near you. :)
  • I already have a slow cooker. What could I cook in a remoska that I could not cook in a slow cooker?

I read somewhere that you can do a whole roast dinner in one - including getting crispy skin on a roast chicken or really crispy crackling on pork.

I've only seen them in Lakeland and they are almost £100 o I'm reluctant to buy one without hearing more from anyone who has one.

I use my slow cooker a lot but wondered if I could broaden my cooking horizons from just casseroles and stews. Now my new kitchen is finished I can at last dispense with shop bought microwave meals and I'm looking to cook large batches for freezing into smaller portions for work.

I think I want one of these too!! We have a new Lakeland opening near me soon so I shall be tempted again  . Thanks for that web site - I'll troll through it and see if I can really justify getting one. Sadly kitchen space is at a premium so everything has to be justified and earn its place. Thanks to this site I have invested in a slow cooker and using it quite a lot. If anyone has used the Remoska I'd really love to know if it is really worth it as well.

dont want to cause a stampede but there's one for sale on e-bay:money: starting price £35.00 with £7.49 postage. Not for me as I have no room left for one having just got myself a slow cooker and deep fat fryer.
