Thanks for the quick reply, I wasn't going to cook the meat and spuds together from raw, I was planning on frying the mince off in it (so I can drain it) then sticking the carrots,stock and whatever in. Then when that's cooked for a bit I was going to whack the potatoes on. Hmmm..maybe it was a bad idea in which case we'll have mash!
it should work fine as long as the potatoes are thinly sliced - think of it as a mince hotpot - lush0 -

yes of course that would work - silly me ! I think if I did this I might put a bit of foil on top of spuds to start with to stop them crisping too fast, but I'm not v good at slicing things very thinly. I wonder why I've been bothering to pre-cook the spuds ??? Durr. Thanks Louietudor0 -

My OH invented a nice 'recipe' last night - he can't cook but is having to as I'm on a fierce diet and don't want to go in kitchen. I give shouted advice from other rooms.
It went like this:
an onion, sliced
a leek, sliced
Half a red pepper sliced
some broccoli florets
a carrot sliced
He sweated all those except the broccoli in the Moska, with a bit of butter, until softish, then he added some chopped cooked chicken and about half a pint of mixed double cream and milk, laced with about 2 tablespoons grainy mustard and the broccoli. Stirred it all up, grated a bit of cheese on it and cooked until chicken properly hot. There was enough for him to have it today for lunch too. Not the most healthy dish, but not bad for a treat for a bloke who really can't even chop an onion properly.(I tasted a tiny bit, it was delish). he loves veg and said they were actually too soggy and another time he'd cook them less so there was some crunch left. I thought adding the pepper was a bit odd, but he liked it. he did it in the deep pan but I thought afterwards that it would have been quicker in the shallow one. I think you could do this with all sorts of veg, and really don't need the meat if you have cheese too. What a good boy (and what a good Moska for helping him to learn to cook !)0 -

Just a thought, but if you wanted to substitute for the cream, you could use a soup, such as mushroom or chicken, which would still give you a "creamy"-type sauce, but be lower in cals. I often use packet soup made up with less water as a "cheat" when I want a quick sauce to bind veggies etc, say for pasta or in a chicken & ham pie-type of meal, when I can't be bothered to make a white sauce. Just don't add any seasoning till the end, as the soup is already seasoned, of course.0 -
I made Toad in the Hole today and it was delicious. It rose quite highly and before I had chance to cover in foil it became a little 'singed' round the edges. Not too much though. I added roasted vegetables and it made a lovely meal.

Just wondering if anyone's tried that silicone cook ware in their mosky?
I got the grande last month and I love it! everything so far has been a total sucess
I havent tried cooking any bread in there yet but make fresh bread every week - so why not?
Thing is I have these little mini squidgey silicone loaf tins, has anyone put the silicone stuff in the mosky yet?
Having melted the bag the taters were in (lent against the side of the bowl, oh yes I am observent :rotfl:) I'm a little nervous about it.
In the oven they are okay to go on the shelves, so I guess that would be like the rack in the remoska? Except I dont have a rack just yet
Any thoughts or experiences???

p-n, no problem using silicon in the remoska. I use my silicon mini muffin moulds (bought from from Lidl a while ago) and they work great.0

I use my silicone cake tins and muffin tins in the Remoska straight on the pan - no rack required, works fine! By the way if you look around a few supermarkets in the housewear sections you can quite easily find a round rack that will fit nicely into your Remie!When life hands you lemons, ask for tequilla and salt and give me a call!!!0 -
