Polite note to shortlegs: All the recipes in the little blue booklet are for the standard model, using the deep pan. The same is true of the Recipe Book, except where the individual recipe specifically states that it's for the grande (Irish stew springs to mind as one example); sometimes it says for a "grande" recipe, the quantities can be halved for the standard.
Hope this helps.
I've got both a standard and a grand remoska and the contents of the blue booklet are exactly the same despite one saying "grand" on the front. The only difference is the size baking tray they say to use inside the remoska.
Just had a thought - I did buy the standard a lond time ago and the grand last august so maybe they have changed the standard recipes now. If anyone wants to compare a specific recipe pm meMy name is Paula and I am a low carber1/6/08-83kg : 1/5/10-57kg

A massive big thank you to everyone who gave their advice about Toad in the Hole recipes. They sound delicious and I hope to make this dish on Wednesday. I will post how I go on.
Your help is really appreciated, thank you so much.0 -

How long should roast veg take please? I am begininning to wonder if my Remoska is faulty. Tonight it took nearly 3 hours to cook roast pots and carrots/parsnips and then they weren't crisp. I would have been better cooking them in the microwave. Oven chips take nearly 1 1/2hours and are not very nice. Is it my cooking?0 -

Of course it depends on the type of veg and the amount you have but the times your is taking certainly seems excessive.I would give Lakelands a call! Its not your cooking!:D
When life hands you lemons, ask for tequilla and salt and give me a call!!!0 -

Three hours does seem a long time. Worth giving Lakeland a call.
Like Penny - Pincher I bought the shallow pan (yet more money but worth it, had mine as a Christmas Present) and everything cooks far quicker. I use my main pan for roasting chicken, lamb, and one pot meals and the shallow pan for roasting veg, chips, sausages, pizza etc.
I do cook potatoes around the chicken if its just for me and DH we don't mind if they don't get really crispy and better for me being on a diet as I just brush them with oil or use spray oil on them, they still taste nice, but if the family are here they like really crispy roasties so I do them separate in the shallow pan in pre heated hot oil.0 -
That certainly doesn't sound right at all. I don't think I've ever needed that long to cook anything (including roast meat) in the Moska. I am sure you should go back to Lakeland and ask them about it. What a disappointment for you - I am sure lakeland will sort it out for you as they're fab at customer service. I'm thinking of baking some brownies as a surprise for my OH for Valentines day. :heartsmil
Has anyone had any success with brownies in the remoska? Suggested recipes? I have a grand remoska with the large pan - will they work directly in the pan or would it be best to use another dish?
I successfully made brownies using the Bero recipe - I have a standard Remoska and used a separate tin.
Link for recipe http://www.be-ro.com/recipe/showrec104.htmlDon't put it down, put it away - thanks Valli

I'm making cottage pie in mine tonight with sliced potatoes instead of mash. I'm hoping the potatoes don't take more than about an hour to cook through. Will it be ok to fry the mince off in there? I hate using separate pans for everything!0

mariel, I cook the mince with onion, tomato, grated carrot, herbs, a bit of stock and some HP sauce in the remoska to start with - I can't remember how long that takes but I'd allow up to an hour, then when it's almost ready (cooked and at the right consistency - not too dry and not too sloppy) I boil unpeeled 'new' potatoes on the hob for 20 mins or a bit less, slice them and whack them on top of meat, and hen just cook a bit more to crisp the tops of potatoes. I think if you tried to cook meat and pots together from raw it would be difficult as the meat needs to be stirred occasionally.0

Thanks for the quick reply, I wasn't going to cook the meat and spuds together from raw, I was planning on frying the mince off in it (so I can drain it) then sticking the carrots, stock and whatever in. Then when that's cooked for a bit I was going to whack the potatoes on. Hmmm..maybe it was a bad idea in which case we'll have mash!0
