  • Hello everyone,

I'm a newcomer to the site, and oh dear, I am so so so disappointed...........for the past few evening I have been trawling through the posts, copying and pasting most of the recipes that have been shared, and reading avidly your various comments about the Remoska, small, medium and large.
I remember seeing one in a catalogue about four years ago and being very interested at the time, but thought like some of you that it would become just another unused gadget (oh how I love gadgets....for a while anyway until the novelelty wears off). Racking my brains here becauuse I honestly don't think that it was a Lakeland catalogue. Anyway, I didn't get one.
But late Friday evening, OH had retired for the night, and a lot of your comments had refired my enthusiasm, so I ordered the Grande.
Tonight, I come back on for my nightly fix of comments and possible recipes, only to find that I had reached the End. I didn't notice last night because it was well after midnight, my eyes had read pages and pages of posts, the cats were wanting to be fed or put out or something or other, nature was calling etc.etc.etc.,........but all is not lost because I see that Craftyscholar is pointing me in the direction of a section of indexed recipes on the MoneySaving OldStyle forum....for which I thank you, but I hope to see a lot more posts on this thread so that I can prepare for when my Remoska arrives.

Unfortunately there is not yet an indexed list of moski suggestions.
My post was in reply to shortlegs52 who, as a newcomer to mse, was surprised that people were asking about recipes not realising that there was a whole section devoted to recipes.
  • I'm so excited I'm getting a Remoska for Xmas-its arrived but its got to go to Santa first so I can't have it until the big day.(41 and still excited about Xmas don't know if thats sad or good )

I've fancied one for ages-what is a safe bet to test it with on Xmas day-yorkshires perhaps(with some frozen ones in reserve)?

    Hi Craftyscholar,
No, I had realised that there wasn't yet an indexed list of moski suggestions from trawling through the posts.
I'm just a sucker for recipes and cookery books, hints and tips etc.etc. and I have found loads and loads to look at.....so just sit back and accept my thanks.:kisses3:

    Evening all

Oooohh I have another recipe for the collection -I have just concocted treacle sponge puddings -and they are gorgeous :j ...the pic looks a little anemic because of the lighting -but at least you can see the size ;)

    puddingrk2.th.jpg
    so it was:-
    1. 150g butter/marge -creamed with
    2. 150g sugar -I used granulated as it was the 1st I grabbed
    3. beat in 2 eggs -1 at a time
    4. then add 130g SR flour
    5. and a drop of milk to make to a soft consistancy
Then I got 4 metal individual pudding bowls and placed 1Tbs of golden syrup in each and topped with sponge mix. place in the standard remoska and pour boiling water about 1" deep in the pan. Place a sheet of foil over the top to stop them crusting over, and switch on -mine took about 40 mins and they tasted just about as good as steaming in a pan :j

Hope the recipe is of use to someone :D
    -6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.5

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
These treacle sponge puds sound delicious and I will save this recipe for when I am not trying to lose some weight - just got back from holiday so need to loose a few pounds before Christmas but will certainly give them a try soon.
  • I just have to tell people who will understand how amazing this is - I have just got a Remoska on Freecycle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(If I could find the smilies there would be a row of jumping happy men here!)

It is 10" diameter so I'm not sure what size that is. It has a recipe book and a rack with it!
I am going to start using it tomorrow, something simple first. And then I will have to start reading through this thread, that may take some time!

    Isn't Freecycle a wonderful thing?!!!!!!!!!!
  • Hope the recipe is of use to someone :D[/quote]

Thanks MRSMCAWBER, copied and pasted already for when the grande arrives.
    They look scrumptious.
  • Well done bizzylizzy.........on earlier posts I have read about one or two members getting them very cheaply, but Freecycle is for free isn't it?

    So congratulations!!!
  • Yes, it is - for free!!!!!!!!! Amazing!!!!!
