Working on OH now think he's almost ready to say just get it lol. I think he's missing it too, its not like him to take an interest in kitchen gadgets (he knows I'm an advertisers delight) but he had to admit the Remoska was very good and he had some lovely meals in our borrowed one last week. Now I shall just have to think of some really boring meals to cook in our 'expensive to run' normal oven;)
I've just ordered the Grand Remoska and rack, it's our 30th Wedding Anniversary today and OH said to order it (what an old romantic):rotfl: who needs pearls, I'd much rather have a Remoska. Can't wait for it to come now!0 -

Happy Anniversary!:j. I love my Remoskas and can't think of a better present to be given on a wedding anniversary! It is the gift that keeps on giving - giving loads of lovely meals with a generally small effort!;):D Enjoy!

I would like to do a victoria sponge but would it mean having to bake one layer at a time?
Hi Jennyan,
when i made my last sponge cake i increased the amounts in the recipe by half and made a big cake in the bottom of the remoska and cut it in half after it had cooled to sandwich it together with a filling.
You could do this in the grand in a big cake tin, don`t forget a circle of foil for the top though.

Hi Jennyan
I made one at the weekend with a 4/4/4/2 mix in an 8"/20cm silicon "tin". Just made one layer then cut in half from 12 o'clock to 6 o'clock and made a half-a-cake. Plenty for just the two of us and so quick and easy I just do one whenever we fancy a bit of cake.
If you do want to do 2 layers do them one at a time - the second will be going in when the lid is hot so will take quite a bit less time. I don't use a foil circle - I made one just in case and have never felt the need to use it.

I made homemade pizza in mine tonight and it was the best pizza ever and the base was crispy on edges and not doughy at all in middle0

Good Morning everyone,
Sent my DH to Lidl's last night to pick up anything in their silicone range that he thought suitable for the Remoska. He came back with a pack of 6 silicone muffin moulds, a silicone pastry mat, says on the pack it can also be used as a baking mat for large ovens (this one is very thick) and three boxes of multi use baking sheet foil.
I've never used any of these, are they the right things for the Remoska, would I be best to cut up the thicker pastry mat to use in the bottom or do I use the baking sheet foil?0 -
I just cut up the thin pastry mat, slightly larger than the outside ring, and it is great in the bottom of the Remoska. I turned it upside down because it doesn't slip that way.0

Would the bigger of the Ramoska's be big enough to cook a meal for a family of 5 adults with big appetites?
I'm wondering if it's an expense I don't need, as I already have a 6litre slow cooker.
I just hate my gas oven sooooo much - I have to cook everything on gas mark 8 or 9 and even then everything takes hours to cook. (It's had a new thermostat recently, so can't see the point of having another one, as it didn't fix it first time round.) So it's not just the running cost I'm looking at, but the Remoska's efficiency.
I've not read this entire thread, but I can see that some of you are lining, or using extra dishes inside the cooker. Is this strictly necessary, or is this just some clever notion that MSEers have come up with to ease cleaning or something?0
