Car being vandalised...
The other day someone reversed their car down ours and drove off, it has done quite a lot of damage, scaped paint off, etc. We managed to get their registration and reported it to the police, though don't know what's happening with it at the mo. Anyway, tonight a friend of one of the boys off our street has decided to knock our wing mirror off. My partner has left a voicemail for our local police officer just informing him that things on our street are getting out of hand. I didn't see the point in reporting it as an incident as I couldn't tell which lad had done it. They have no consideration at all for anyone on the street, they lean against peoples cars, kick footballs at them (we live in a terraced street so have to park the car outside our house on the road). I'm at my wits end and want to move but can't afford to at the moment. I really don't know what to do, I feel like we are being punished now for reporting our car getting knocked into originally (guessing that the lad who did it has got into a bit of trouble
).
Has anyone had anything similar happen to them? Any advice?
Thanks for any replies!

Hi, sorry to hear about that.
My advice have a cctv camera set up, you might want to keep it hidden though and secretly film just because you don't want to attract any idiots who don't care that they are being filmed.
Also what about a neighbourhood watch scheme? Are there any in your area?
I would get in touch with your local MP and ask anyone else who is having problems to do the same.
Find out the number for your community wardens and make a pest out of yourself and say you need them to be in the area.
The one hting to do is persevere getting help. The more people ring up and report everything the more notice they will take. Ring up for every incident no matter if it's small. Start keeping a diary of events too.
I can undertsand you wanting to move but for now I would suggest finding support from neighbours and swap telephone numbers with them and if anythign happens one can ring the other and this would be like a neighborhood watch scheme, and you can all report incidents togeher, and hopefully things will improve.£200 saved for baby things :T0 -
you also get a car alarm which produces a 'field' around the car, so about 5mm before one touch the car, the alarm will sound.
If your friends son knocked your mirror off, I would have strong words with your friend, probably in fron of her son. If you get loads of lip from her go to the police and give them his name. You don't want friends who allow their son vandalise your goods, that is not a friend.GOOGLE it before you ask, you'll often save yourself a lot of time.0 -
I'd advise giving your Council a ring and asking to speak to the local Anti Social Behaviour Unit, and also find out about Neighbourhood Watch (they are linked).
In my experience the police need to attend to more urgent things and will simply not attend, but that is what the ASB unit is for
Best of luck, I know exactly how you feel.0 -
Give the little turds a smack!!

Ignore this advice.
You assault a child and you will be in a heap of trouble a lot worse than a missing wing mirror.0 -
Thank you all for your replies. I think someone misunderstood.... the lads are friends with some lads who live on our street, not my friends lad, thank god in a way! hehe. I hadn't heard of an anti-social behaviour unit, will try and see if they can help. I know it sounds silly but I'm scared that if we start to stick up for ourselves by starting a neighbourhood watch, etc then they are just going to get worse and cause us even more trouble. Any noise I hear outside, i'm worried they're doiing something else to our car... I've started blind twitching!!! lol.0

Caught some Somali children climbing all over our community room last night, it even has anti climb paint on it ( the sign says so).

Here is one, but there are many http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/product/products_id/5093.html
I leaned down to look into the window of the new car nearly touching it in the process and the thing began to chirp.
