And yet you still have little boy sales people who help people fiddle there income/outgoings etc to fit a plan, that makes me very confident that your voluntary code works.

Any evidence to back this statement up or are you just working on generic presumptions again?

Plus you seem unaware that the majority of expenditure has limits set on it by the creditors themselves as to what they will and won't accept. Income isn't fiddled as it comes direct from pay slips and bank statements.

http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/manuals/dmbmanual/DMBM800120.htm that would be this agreed standard of expenditure would it :D

Believe me I had first hand experience of a boy telling me what a family of 5 lives on!

We were told to go into an IVA by a so called Debt management company, who went through our SOA and fiddled them beyond belief and told us it would be accepted by 99% of our creditors. The figures were a joke, on getting proper help from CCCS, they were nowhere near a government guideline amount and the IVA would have never been agreed, their answer to this was to go on their DMP which we could pay them a monthly fee for, so in effect they just set you up to fail and claim their profit anyway. Scuzzers in my opinion, feeding off vulnerable and desperate people who are too trusting.
If it wasnt for this board we would have signed up to the IVA which would never have been accepted and then roped into paying a fee every month for which CCCS do not charge. These people need to be regulated properly, how many others werent as fortunate as us to get decent advice from people not trying to squeeze money out of you.

    K xx

It is situations like this, which happen in a lot of companies, that annoy me something chronic. The industry we know is dodgy at the best of times, however it doesn't mean that every company is corrupt. Some genuinely look after the best interests of anyone they speak to.

That is a pretty simplistic version of it as it doesn't differentiate between 1 child or 10. However it is similar to the one we use. Ours is actually a lot tighter on everything except phone which allows upto £35 on mobile phone

Oh no I am so tempted to go from doing my own, with interest stopped and refunded and pay £30 a month for someone else to do it - I have money to throw away being so far in debt! :D

Not trying to wind people up no. I just object to people hiding behind the anonymity of an alias online, making opinions on an entire industry just because of a bad experience they may have had. I understand the freedom of speech that the internet gives, however, if you had a bad meal at a restaurant would you start saying the entire restaurant industry was overpriced for what you get - no you wouldn't. You would object to that particular restaurant. All I am asking is that people do the same with DMCs. They aren't a singular entity that are all unethical, money grabbing beasts. There are good companies out there, so please by all means state an opinion but don't label an entire industry with your comments.

The problem you have is no one on here has had a positive experience with a DMC otherwise they would not be on here so you are wasting your time completely.

They come on here asking for advice on how to prevent going bankrupt after bad IVA advice, why are they in court after a DMC has not passed on payments to a creditor, why won't there DMC help now it has ended up at court, etc etc

equally though there are a lot of people who come on here having no experience of DMCs or free companies and looking for a bit of advice on options - to be greated by comments saying all DMCs are corrupt

To be fair, equally you could say that the people who are with a DMC where they are blissfully happy with the way it is being managed won't be here, so it doesn't prove that they don't exist.
