    I must be very stingy!
My dd has always had 1 pinafore or skirt, 1 cardigan, 4 shirts and 1 tie
ds has 2 pairs trousers, 1 jumper, 4 shirts and 1 tie

If they're manky midweek, they get a quick handwash, hung up and they're ready for the morning with no need to iron

I'm another who likes M&S for quality, but unfortunately dd likes the 3/4 sleeve fitted blouses and they're a scary price!
Saying that, the above lasts them both for the full school year, and M&S shirts last the best part of 2 years as long as they still fit, so if you work out the "cost per wear" it's a pretty economical way oc clothing them!

I'm being very smug this afternoon as I managed to buy school shoes for both of them today! (in Scotland so they go back 19th Aug)

I'm smug too. They've only broke up today, and i've already got next years uniforms ready apart from the shoes.

    DD (7) 1 skirt, 1 pinafore and 1 trousers - Asda
    4 polo shirts - Asda
2 school sweatshirts and 1 school cardigan.

DS (11) 2 trousers (tesco - cos they still have elastic back for his age and he's a big lanky thing who's trousers fall down).
    5 polo shirts - Asda
    3 school sweatshirts.

DS is going to big school, so totally new uniform. But i've kept bits of DD's this years uniform which still looks ok - which will be kept as spares for next year. Best looking think is a pleated pinafore which she wanted, from the local market for about £4.00 - its washed really well and still looks like new!!

One thing I did learn in the past, its worth spending on shoes.

I bought them both cheap ones from Asda a few years ago. DS lasted less than a week, and DD lasted about 2 weeks.
I got him new ones from next, which lasted almost the year, and got hers from Clarks, which still look ok after the full year in school.
